Mullen to Syracuse (not solid yet but heating up)!

Of course, Mullen may like the UK job better.

I have no preference between the two.

Both are basketball schools but Kentucky plays real teams.

 

We play both Kentucky and A&M next year.

 

Which means that he will get to keep his job at Syracuse for a longer time as he can probably win 8 or more games each year there. Job security.

Kentucky is a harder gig IMHO. And I do not know how well Mullen would fit in Lexington.

 

Kentucky should hire Jimbo.

His aTm buyout is guaranteed.

They can give him Stoops’ contract, he’ll be earning more than anyone in salary+buyout, and have ZERO expectations.

 

Yeah, that UK job has got to be one of the best in the business. Win like 8 games and don't get embarrassed, we will pay you top 10 money and everyone will love you.

 

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I actually think this is a good hire.

 

Mark Stoops is NOT leaving Kentucky!

 

I saw the title and still thought we were talking about Bob

 

He has a very good salary with UK so won’t come cheap.

 

What a whirlwind of a day. So glad Stoops is staying at UK.

Almost reminds me of when we hired Mullen from Miss. State.

 

Really? Because one dude went 7-5 with the number thirty recruiting class and the other one got paid a stratospheric amount of money to go 7-5 with what was supposed to be one of the best recruiting classes out there. Sounds to me like one of them is doing more with less.

 

You sound a little nervous there buddy. TAMU can offer a lot more than Kentucky and if Stoops has an itch to compete for championships (and be set for life even if he fails) which he won't do at Kentucky, then he would be foolish not to consider it.

On the other hand, he might be perfectly content having hit his ceiling. Most aren't.

 

A&M forums have fans breathing a sigh of relief.
