Transfer Portal Thoughts

How awful...prayers for that family.

 

Heard some "chatter" about Harold Perkins not being happy at all at LSU... Chatter mentions Transfer Portal for him too.

I wonder what we're thinking here...

 

I wonder what he is unhappy about? If it’s that they have three losses and they aren’t going to Atlanta, we can’t help him. Maybe Kelly tried to booty dance with him is my hopes.

 

“not happy” = asking for more NIL

 

More than likely.maybe not coddled enough either.

 

I think his heart wanted to be at Florida. Question is can we afford him.

 

We better be able to if he wants to be here.

 

his dad wanted him at LSU. His dad is an lsu fan and accepted the non -nil bags (on top of NIL) to push his son to lsu. Perkins mom preferred UF and wasn’t overly pleased his dad was so involved with lsu recruitment. We def had an NIL package but we were pretty weak with NIL at that time.

 

He was the main "fish that got away" in recruiting that year, IMO. He'd step in as a starter day one here in a massive position of need. And I imagine they'd give him a chance to tote the rock. Graham could be his understudy.

 

I think he was ten times better as a freshman than he is in his sophomore year, this year... It's coach related.

 

His mom for sure wanted him to play for the Gators but... he decided to take the $$$$$ instead.

 

maybe momma wins out this time...

 

We need to...at all cost. Guy would be plug and destroy right where we need it.

 

i e heard he is playing the other lb position from what he was playing last year.

Half the starters on O

 

If Perkins becomes available the donors absolutely have to find a way to pay him. Edge pressure is an absolute need for this team

 

One is not like the others. George got manhandled last night and has been most of the season. I can see why there was no crying from the Bama nation when he left

 

Agreed, and more evidence to go o lineman don’t transfer. Anybody thinking we are getting starting o lineman out of the portal is way off. Maybe 1-2 a year and it’s usually them going up in competition or odd circumstances like coaches leaving. That being said - need to raid A&M/ Michigan and OSU if they have a change, etc.

 

The good O and D linemen like you mention are rare and are going to be very expensive. The top schools will pay to keep them amd buy the few that are known quantities.

Personally I don't think we'll break the bank and I don't care. For those Gators who want to bid with the deep pocket schools, you will know where we stand in the money war soon.

 

We may need a 3rd offensive line coach to teach the OL to sustain blocks, pick up blitzes and switches, ….. as our OL last night could not do any of that versus FSU DL.
