The restaurant wasn't located in DC it's located in Lexington, Virginia well over 150 miles from DC although some of the geniuses of MAGA nation picketed and called for a boycott of a completely unrelated restaurant with the same name that was located in DC. Many successful restaurateurs rebrand concepts over time. Sometimes they grow stale, sometimes knock off competitors locate nearby and erode margins, or a signature chef leaves. Seems unlikely they would survive a Covid lockdown and fail 3 years later just because of something they did 5 years ago to SSH. And magically still have the capital to rebrand, which can be very expensive. Not everything is about politics. The restaurant was getting very good reviews on Yelp (and probably Google, too) until the incident with Sarah Huckabee Sanders after which the number of total reviews as well as the number of negative reviews increased significantly. Just a guess but a lot of those reviews were probably from people who never ate at the restaurant. I think he was referring to discrimination based on factors like race, religion or ethnicity not discrimination based on the behavior or wearing apparel of a customer.
