Restaurant That Kicked Out Republican Governor Closes Its Doors (westernjournal.com) A Virginia restaurant that made headlines in 2018 after its owner kicked out then-White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for being a conservative is closing its doors. “Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so.” No reason was offered for the imminent closure, but Wilkinson will shut down The Red Hen and attempt to reopen a new restaurant under a different name. While it's her business and I do believe she has the right to ask somebody to leave, she ruined her business what a complete dumb ass. She got what she deserved.
And your point. You do realize we talked about this when it happened, and they never fully recovered from her dumb ass decision.
You think a restaurant (90% don’t even make it five years) is closing now due to something that happened 5 years ago? lol. Bless your heart.
Thousands of restaurants close every year in the U.S. Maybe this restaurant closed because of the Sanders' thing five years ago, but it's extremely unlikely.
Can you legally ask anyone to leave as long as they aren’t being loud, obnoxious, and are appropriately dressed? Note to self. Don’t eat at a restaurant where you’re not wanted unless you don’t mind eating boogers.
Can’t think of any other reason that wouldn’t be discrimination of some sort other than what I posted.
The protected classes include: age, ancestry, color, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, genetic information, HIV/AIDS status, military status, national origin, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status, or any other bases under the law. Although one could argue being a Trump supporter qualifies as a disability.
I understand the protected classes. I think the wearing of a political hat getting you kicked out is discrimination. My opinion I wouldn’t do it myself due to I would not eat anything made by someone who doesn’t want me there.
So the restaurant makes it through 1-2 more years pre covid, through covid, then 2-3 more years post covid and something that happened 5 years ago caused it to close? Hilarious. Maybe with a 2.6 on google reviews and 50% 1 star ratings affected it? I perused the reviews and they were overpriced and mediocre food comments. Zero mentioning of food tasting too woke.
That's for lawyers to figure out I suppose. We banned a regular of ours after it was discovered he had a child pornography conviction in his past. Our female bartenders didn't want him there. Kind of relateded story but we got left a 1 star review from someone that claimed we kicked him out for wearing a MAGA hat. It was a complete fabrication, but I guess he was targeting establishments in progressive neighborhoods, I dunno
