Migrants Hurting Themselves Falling off "Unclimbable" Wall

So true. They will have already passed through 99% of an extremely hard journey. Suddenly a 30 foot wall is going to stop them?

 

With about 7 or 8 million of them here now conditions should be getting better for them. And why climb the wall? I'm sure there is plenty of openings fairly close.

 

Make it higher and then they won't even try to climb it. Let them wait to come into the U.S.A. like everyone else has to wait...

 

So if they have paid coyotes, how is their journey to the border so difficult? And many, many videos I have seen the illegals as well as those seeking asylum to do not look very haggard from their difficult journey.

 

I'm not a "build the wall" guy but I mean, if the wall is there and you're breaking the law climbing it and you fall, well that's kind of the point. I'm not cheering on the injuries, but... eh don't climb it

 

Sounds like we’re all in agreement that we don’t want people climbing the wall, and we don’t want people falling off of it. I propose we put safety posters that include pictures of the injured on the Mexico side of the wall along with an updated number of those who have suffered from unnecessary falls.

 

First, I think your premise that most of these folks have walked hundreds if not thousands of miles is somewhat hyperbolic to what most at the border actually went through.
Second, people all over the world are dying every day seeking freedom, these folks have a choice, we are letting nearly all in if asylum is requested and deserved, so no I don't feel obligated to make it any easier than it is already.
Third, we are not causing any suffering or death, by choice they climb the wall, that they know was put there to keep them from crossing.
I know this is a hard concept for many here but at some point, you need to take accountability for your own actions.

 

Missing a higher wall with razor wire, electrified parts, a moat full of crocodiles, gun turrets, and pots of boiling oil that can be dumped on those who try to scale the wall. Maybe add in some flamethrowers to burn them to a crisp. That there are some who would actually like to see all of that is disturbing.

 

Lol, so you want it higher. It's really simple don't climb the wall to enter our country illegally and you won't get hurt.

 

What should be disturbing to you and all of us is that we have foreigners that their very first act in this country is breaking the law. What is disturbing is folks like you could care less about this country and want it turned into a third world nation. What's disturbing is that our very own government is so inept at governing that they won't improve the immigration policy and make it easier for law abiding foreigners that want to come here for a better life have to resort to breaking the law. What is disturbing that without a better enforced border we will never be able to curb the drug problems we have. What's disturbing is claiming that a wall is the problem, yet we have walls and fences and security cameras around our own homes, but do not want them for the folks that are Americans living on or near the border.

 

More of that false dichotomy bullshit again. No one is calling for open borders. Is there a problem? no doubt, but the wall is not the panacea many make it out to be.

Not sure who you are talking about. No one I know thought the wall was the end all be all. But it is a step in the direction of reducing illegal crossings and more effort could be put towards where a wall was impossible to build.

 

This. If you climb a 30 foot wall, consequences are on you. And these coyotes charge thousands of dollars so I’m not sure these people are starving to death.

 

Unsurprisingly, a lot of hyperbole here. We are doing a fine job of turning our country into a third world dictatorship by rejecting democracy, education and making a mockery of our institutions. We don’t need any help from immigrants.

The drugs are not climbing walls or swimming across rivers. They come through our checkpoints, ports and airports.

At least half of illegal immigrants come on a plane, with a visa. You are going to need a 50,000 wall to keep them away.
