But he made major changes and hit the portal hard and did it at a high level. I keep thinking Billy is going to have a breakthrough win. Last week with 1:50 left and the ball we needed one play. Not a pass but maybe Max pulling from Trevor and keeping around end. Instead we got 3 dives. On 4th 17 we needed to use the timeout Mizzou called to come up with anything to stop a play that had a 1/100 chance of working. To remind the guys to cover the middle and also to get the two linebackers off the field. Why not on 4th and 17 have 6-7 Db’s on field as our linebackers don’t give us much in coverage.

 

Agree except I think you meant “Like “some” in our fan base…. Most do not want him fired. Even better would have been “Like most FSU fans…” Their message boards were overwhelmingly in the “fire Norvell” camp and they would have missed out on their success this year.

For a total of ~$17M and average of ~$4.25M/year.

Currently we're in the hole $14.3M in half the time and an average salary of $7.15M/year.

According to my Google skills norvell won't make more than Sunbelt billy in regular salary until 2025.

On a positive note we're still paying less for failure than Miami.

Personally I think billy will turn it around. I place the blame for the kindergarten level contract negotiations on our 'athletic director'.

2 years is not enough time for a coach but for every Mike Norvell there are dozens of Will Muschamps.

Maybe Florida should have given Muschamp more time? Maybe South Carolina should've been more patient with Muschamp? Maybe Texas A&M should've given Jimbo another couple of years?

Time will tell with Billy Napier.
