I think Max Brown shocks people. I know he was a low 3 star kid, but, his recruiting profile said he went for 4k total yards and 61 TD's in one season that his team finished as a 13-1 runner up. He comes from a 3a school and from what I've seen(could be wrong) only started for one season. Imagine the hype on a kid of his size and athleticism with two or three years of starting production like that.
Absolutely! Our incoming guy Lagway is a dual threat monster too, I assume he's quite a bit better than Brown. Brown also plays baseball which is pretty impressive. When you can up and run with authority things usually work out well for the offense. Except for an occasional poorly timed play-call, our offense has been looking pretty darn impressive lately. I imagine once the defense can tighten up the win probability changes significantly. Go Gators!
He'll be better at home, but basic things like play clock management and handoffs are going to be a challenge for him.
Don't understand this as handoffs should be the easiest thing he can do as a QB. Other than taking the snap, this is the next most common thing for a QB to do.
I’ve been saying all year that this is a good chance for a win and now even more so. FSU has played almost all unranked teams, caught Clemson before they got going (and could have easily lost) was being beaten by Duke before their QB went down and up until Saturday had avoided a slew of major injuries. We have been dining on tough meat and taters while they’ve been eating jelly rolls and cupcakes.
Yup. But, he had issues with it twice in two drives last night. Timing, positioning and placement with his backs was off. Just needs reps.
Don't recall me saying he's supposed to be perfect off of the bench. I responded to another comment, and he's done handoffs his entire career. My comment is based on that's going to be one of the things he'll have the least challenges with in his career. Perhaps I should have worded it better.
I agree, the defense is the Achilles heel of this team and has been for the past 4 seasons. When Napier gets that shored up we see great improvement.
Tell me about it. I played the Gators over 5.5 wins for the season. Getting the fifth win at SC was awesome. Sitting there thinking "ok, just get at least one of these last five games . . . no problem." The Ark and Mizzou games were brutal enough on their own. Not getting that sixth win just made it more frustrating.
The beauty about QB’s in recruiting is some can be highly touted and have average college careers or even amazing college careers and only last a few seasons in the NFL as a back up. Others can go virtually undetected by these recruit ranking services and go on to be ballers. Josh Allen comes to mind. My main point being that Max could end up being a baller that’s been sitting under the staff’s nose this whole time. I guess we will find out on Saturday.
Don't really wont to read all of this but I felt really good about the matchup with Mizzou. Coaching failed us as always. I think fsu will try to run up the score on us to try to get to the playoffs. Some of the older semis are worried but that is not SOS or Urban on the sideline --- Not even Zook.
There's absolutely no way they RUTS at the Swamp. I feel very confident we win this game outright, but in the event we come up short, it will be close. No way in hell Tate Rodemaker and Co. blow us out. Zero chance of that happening.
