They beat MTSU by 4, KSU by 3, Memphis by 7 and us by 2. They dominated Tennessee no doubt. That was a nice win for them. Im only pointing this out as I’ve read on a few boards how we played a great team close and we should be proud. And while I’m okay with the effort, I guess I’m just not as sold on the Tigers as a lot of other people are.
Yeah, Missouri"s ranking is too high. Basically got beat by the same teams we did, beat Tenn like we did, but they won the scrub games they were supposed to while we didn't. They have some electric guys on offense and a great OL, but I wasn't impressed with their D.
They were also short on the defensive side of the ball. Speaking of that, it sure would be nice if Hopper was still in the orange and blue.
Kansas St will be in the top 20 this week and is tied for 2nd in the Big XII. KSU's only loss in their last 6 games was in overtime at Texas. That win is aging well. It speaks to how bad the SEC is this year that a 9-2 team with a very good OOC win and competitive loss to the #1 team is being questioned as not good.
Mizzous only losses was a 9 point loss to the overall #1 team the back to back champs UGA and the #1 offense in the country in LSU. They also have the best running back in the SEC Cody Schraeder and arguably the best WR in the SEC in Luther Burden III with a QB who has been pretty damn good himself. Also have one of the top graded draft prospects in the monster of a DE Darius Robinson. They are a pretty damn good team. Sad some here are trying to downgrade them in order to make our efforts seem worse.
Wasn’t comparing our injuries to theirs. Was just stating that their defense would’ve been a little better had they not been missing their two best LB’s.
— Just curious, but were you impressed with MTSU’s effort against them only losing by 4? Were you impressed with Memphis only losing by 7 there? Did Vandy impress you since they only lost by 17 to the Tigers? (Vandy’s 2nd closest SEC loss -Aub beat them by 16). Missouri lost by double digits at home to 3 loss LSU and played UGA close again (did that last year too). They are a decent team, but they’ve had the ball bounce their way a lot this year. They have been beatable many times this year, but found ways to win. I’ll give them credit for that.
That is the difference in having a senior laden team like Missouri and a bunch of freshmen team like UF. TCU was the same way last year. Not doing so good this year. We will be much better next year and Missouri will lose 5 games
Having a senior laden team like Mizzou has makes it easier for them to stay focused and not panic in those close games. They play well, and they play hard, and it's paid off for them. They've also been fortunate this year, it's true, including last night.
Saying Mizz lost by double digits to LSU is like saying in 2006 Florida lost by double digits to Auburn
It doesn't make sense, they have a strong resume and statically are right in line with what their record suggests they are, a very good team. This isn't KY.
Last year they lost 4 games by a single score this season they won 4 games by a single score this is what some would call......"PROGRESS"
— Not apples to apples. We played Auburn on the road and lost by 10. They played LSU in Missouri and lost by 10. I would hope we can agree that road games are more challenging than home games. Also, their schedule is pretty crazy. I didn’t realize, Florida was their 7th home game of the season with 1 neutral site game in Missouri also.
You mean like the road game we just played at night and lost by a last second FG? Lol you're all over the place
No which is why I'm not sure why you downgraded our opponent and our performance against such knowing all odds were stacked against us playing a night game in Mizzou at the end of Nov. Against a talented 8-2 SEC team ranked #9. All things considered we played a hell of a game all around.
