Florida or FSU? Will Florida’s defense make FSU’s quarterback look like an All-American? Will FSU’s defense make our quarterback look like a second-string quarterback? Or, will our quarterback rise to the occasion and become famous in Gator lore?
I didn't watch any of their game and obviously UNA isn't much competition for them, but Rodemaker was serviceable for them against Louisville last year. That said, he's not as talented as the last 5 quarterbacks we've faced, so maybe there's hope...
2-10 away from The Swamp 9-3 at The Swamp Got a shot. Pressure is on the Noles. This is our bowl game.
Based on our recent history on defense Rodemaker will kickoff his career in grand style kind of like the Rooster back in 98
Is this a trick question? FSU has a better roster than us from top to bottom. The only advantage we have is being at home.
Our defense plays better against pocket passer than running QBs. Max will surprise them with his mobility. Here’s to hoping Napier pulls out all the “scared money don’t make money” plays and leave it all on the field.
The little we saw from Brown was pretty damn good. Dual threat, good runner, and the few passes he threw were sharp and accurate. Not a knock on Mertz, who has been tremendous in the face of this season's adversity, but I think Brown looked like the better QB. Quicker, better runner, and did very well in the pressure packed situation he was called on with almost zero game experience. Only wish BN trusted him at least once to make a play in that final series near the goal line. He changes the whole complexion of next week's game with his ability to run. Will take a little pressure off the O line and maybe open up the lanes for MJ and Etienne. I think UF has better than even odds to win at home with Max at QB. GO Gators
Think we have an advantage considering there is absolutely no game tape on Max in our offense versus Tate is a known quantity. That being said Im telling everyone right now the ACC officials are coming and they are going to bring some special sauce not seen since the Swindle. Watch how many phantom holding calls we get on big plays..how many call backs we get from hands to the face...how many PIs or lack of PIs get the FSU favoritism. Do yourself (and any breakables) a favor and have at least three stiff drinks in you before the opening drive. Its going to be especially one sided.
Travis is not a dual threat. At least not this year. He's been sacked just 14 times yet has only 176 yards rushing along with 7 TDs. His TDs have come within the red zone with his longest run from scrimmage just 20 yards.
Depends on our coaches mindset. If they play passive and don’t pressure Rodemaker we lose. Put Jackson on field at corner!!
FSU’s backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker earned a passer rating of 164.5 against North Alabama. Against Louisville last year he earned a passer rating of 197.6 in mop-up duty. FSU’s backup-backup has slightly less experience than Max Brown with a slightly higher passer rating. I would not get too excited about the chances of Florida’s defense against FSU’s backups. FSU will miss Travis Jordan but they are in a better position than UF in the battle of the backups. Florida did show some fight against Missouri, even with a hodgepodge offensive line and backup QB so there is hope.
I still haven’t seen a diagnosis on Travis Jordan. I know he has a severe leg or ankle injury, but I haven’t seen any news as to the specifics. I haven’t even see FSU release a statement saying this is “season ending”.
Did you see video of the injury? If you did, then you don't need a report. I predicted, facetiously, of course, after the Arkansas loss that this was all part of Billy's plan to lose to Arky, LSU and Mizzou so that the guys would have to play their tails off to get bowl elligible against FSU, adding to the nomral motivation of beating FSU and the extra motivation of spoiling their CFP hopes by losing to a 5-6 team. Billy's got them right where he wants them! Let's ruin their season just like in 1997.
