Florida lost our starting QB tonight and eventually lost the game . . . but not without one hell of a fight! I thought it was a very well-called game. These kids cut it to just 2 with 7:49 left. They would not quit. The defense got the ball back on a huge stand with 4:44 left. Max Brown led the offense and they put Trey Smack in position and he kicked a FG to go up 31-30 . . . but left 1:36 and Missouri kicked the game-winning-FG with just 0:08 left. Just too much time to stop the big-play Missouri offense. We'll probably go into the game next Saturday against the Holes with Max Brown at QB as they go with their QB2 as well.
very proud of how the team played through the adversity. I will never ever like prevent defense though.
I'm so demoralized considering we were 4th and 17 away from winning it. Proud of the kids. But damn it. That freaking hurts. We NEEDED a win, man. Terrible loss.
Another game another loss. Our defense looks absolutely lost out there. Wide open players on nearly every down.
No pressure on the QB and no one near the receivers on 4th and 17 is a recipe for disaster. We played one hail of a game, it's just sad that we lost at the every end. Etienne played a hail of a game... but he forgot to stay in bounds saving them time and their last time out. I felt like we played for that field goal and never really tried to get the TD on our last possession. Then our defense never pressured their QB on their last drive. We simply never finished the game.
I thought the D played great tonight against a great offense and the best running back in the SEC. On 4th and 17, Princely got held and there was no call and the a Mizzou WR picked one of our DBs 20 yards down field, allowing their guy to make the catch. But there should have been way less time left on the clock with better play calling and execution on the previous drive. Oh well, a lot of close losses this year will hopefully translate into a lot of close wins next year.
The players, even though they are young, played well enough to win the game. We took the ball out of the hands of our best group, and put it in the hands of the group that has been struggling the most. This loss is on coaching decisions at the end of the game. We played for a FG, and lost on a FG.
Portal priorities: * 2 SEC capable OT's * 2 SEC capable LB's (our only SEC capable LB is injured) * J Greenard
