Our track record out of the half is not good

 

Have you looked at our possessions after the first drive. You can point to that but for as young and as much as our defense struggles we need to hold onto ball longer. After the first drive we have 70 yards total offense. We had more yards the first drive in 4-5 plays than we did the rest of the first quarter and entire second quarter. Simply put offense had a really bad first half.
You can’t go:
3 plays punt
5 plays punt
3 plays Interception
5 plays and run out of time. Makes it very tough on our defense.

Need a 10 play drive

 

That’s been the story of our offense for the entire season. Mertz really could be a very good quarterback, but he’s got no time whatsoever.

I wonder if we got the ball with 3 minutes left that we try and milk the clock...not sure where we decide going after points on offense isn't worth it and go into the shell of safety. Its bizarre....not sure Ive ever seen that. Most teams really value the last two minutes and first two minutes around halftime.

 

He's not "probably" out, he's 100% not playing again this season. And they were beatable before
