Questions About Recruiting (11/18)

Sorry this is long. I’ll be interested to get your take on my post, especially our recruiting fall the last week.

I don’t think he should be fired. I do think he needs to gain more of a sense of urgency in several aspects.

Portal- evals taking too long. Once we get involved player has already committed elsewhere.

Mindset- my concern would be you can rebuild and win at the same time as several have shown last year and this year. It seems as if Billy has a feeling or at least seems this way that winning can happen in year 3-4. That mindset is very concerning.

Taking responsibility- answers to questions odd in that he will act like he doesn’t know what reporters are referring to when clearly he does as there are multiple examples of errors on special teams that have been asked about. Nobody asking him to be Spurrier but some straightforward accountability would be refreshing. Him bringing up the Buffalo Bills and their troubles, with special teams in comparison to us was talked about by many that played the game as “why”. Just fix your own issues.

As I’ve said many many times, I really like Billy but he needs to win some games and needs to start showing a different level of concern when we lose. Mullen was criticized heavily for attitude when losing, Billy not far from that and that’s because of his reaction after losses.

Recruiting Class- has had 3 de commits in last week and fallen from 3 to #12. There may be one more decommit coming. His reaction to these decommits with getting others to take their place will be telling. Right now before early signing he’s made no moves to have anyone take their place. He has 10 days. Let’s hope he gets at least 2 more commits to take place of 3 big timers we just lost. We keep Amaris Williams from OSU and that’ll be a win in itself but did you expect a number 12 ranked recruiting class?
