Yea stats don’t mean much. The more promising thing is Lagway’s improvement from year to year especially with completion percentage.
After 1 qtr Lagway has two TD passes (51 and 52 on the year) in state playoff game and his team leads 14-0.
DJ will get a big test next week vs Desoto , I might have to attend that game if the neutral site is somewhat close to me . Should be a good one
42-21 5 tds (all 5 to Jermaine Burton) 2 ints. Not sure about the yards. Depending on the day I hope to be able to go to the game against Desoto since it’s in San Antonio
He plays in 6A? That the highest classification of football, last I read. Unless they changed and added a 7A in Texas.
Yes, Lagway plays against pretty good football competition. 2020-2022 UIL Reclassification and Realignment Information — University Interscholastic League (UIL)
Just what I thought, thank you. I was curious becasue someone said that Lagway is NOT playing against good competition, but I knew better. I said he's playing against good quality teams in Texas. Of course different area's are better than others but if he makes the Championship level games than he will be playing the best. However, I didn't get into what he may face later on, just that he plays against decent/quality teams.
He was not, Rick until the playoffs. Until they played the Woodlands, their competition was very lowly ranked. I don’t have the rankings, but someone did a recap and a lot of those teams Willis played were ranked in the high hundreds and even thousands from what I remembered. Either way, they are undefeated and have a chance to win it all. There’s a reason they’re 12-0 with all these blowout wins and still can’t crack the Top 10 in Texas. Did you do that type high school football team investigating for all the QBs going to other schools too? Or is it just our QB that you seem to be hard on? C'mon man, Lagway is the only reason why his team is doing so well. And I still think he's the best high school QB in the nation.
Stats don’t make the prospect. Don’t get starry eyed with them senior stats. Lagway has all the tools to be special, especially the intangibles. I think he needs to work on his decision making and footwork.
Yep, he does... just like all high school QBs going into collage. I can agree with that even without even seeing all his games. Why do I know this without even seeing his games, becasue they all do coming out of high school. That's a guess on my part too, but I am not going to castigate him for not being college football QB1 ready on day one. All I am saying is that he is the best player on his team and without him that team he plays on would not be where they are right now. He is an integral part of what makes that team so good. Now do the other top five QBs coming out of high school in2024... I want to know what you think about them. Lol...
