I was running around town while the game was on and it seemed like every time I'd pull the game up on my phone we'd go on a scoring drought. Maybe I'm the problem? Will try and not watch the Mizzou game live and see what happens in football!
Likely nothing, but did anyone else notice the glancing handshake Hamilton gave Todd Golden at the end of the game with no eye contact? He can’t be happy with the young guy taking over the series.
I can't find his birthday but he was 18 in April and it's not rare for a freshman to come in at 19, so I would say no...but he's definitely more mature than his years. He played in the U18 Western Australia football team so he was a real dual sport guy....you can see that toughness and like Golden said he is not afraid to make some mistakes and play through them so could get even better quickly
he rushes things a bit much. rushes his layups and definitely rushes his 3s. Hopefully he sees that and starts taking his time and focusing on each shot (and follow through on his 3s...he releases like a hot potato)
I think it'll be hard to find 4 guards better than Clayton, Pullin, Kugel and Richard anywhere in the country, and our bigs are way ahead of where we were collectively last year. At least yesterday's 1st half shows our guys how good we can be when we stay locked in on D (especially 3pt D) and play fast on offense. If we do we could be scary good this year. Like some other posters said if we had Pullin against UVA we win that game. But good to get that kind of a loss out of our system early. Learn from it and get even better.
Ok, thanks. I was thinking that perhaps Condon had been out of HS for a couple years. At any rate, the young'uns are playing really strong early in the season. I hope they can sustain a decent level in conference play.
Last season, whenever CC had to take a breather, there was an immediate and significant dropoff in the level of play across the board. He was MVG without a doubt. This season, there's not much dropoff, if any.
Coach mentioned that post-game. I think they were told the refs were going to clamp down in the second half so the game didn't get completely out of control. I'm glad since we could have suffered an injury with a cheap shot by the Holes.
yeah he certainly looks like he has. That block he had in the first half then smack talk to the FSU player that got him a tech was so nice. Shows you how competitive (and athletic) he is
some of those fouls on us were phantom at best...I counted at least 3 in the last 5 minutes of the 1st half alone. "Pushes" that didn't exist.
But I read here that we were probably the 10th or 11th best team in the SEC, haha. Guess that makes FSU like 17th or 18th in our league.
I don't recall Foglers apology....it was good to see Roy's toady get knocked out of the tourney in the first round twice at USCe and then wash out of college basketball with 3 straight losing seasons.
So, I watched the rest of the game last night but I stopped posting. Is FSU's Green going to be suspended for the first half of his next game for his flagrant foul on us?
For sure. Seems like a tough kid that's not afraid to mix it up. Just had to be smart in more closely contested games. He'll mature and learn.
Without mentioning him by name, BD let Fugler have it at the SEC preseason media days. I seem to recall that he (BD) may have been reprimanded by the league brass for that, but he said what needed to be said.
