Agree on Pullin but I think this will be our 8 for the season, with some sprinkled PT here and there.

 

That's always been a boost to the Big 12.

 

Had to post the final count: 51 fouls called this game!

 

Our bigs really need to up their game at the free-throw line.
Condo needs to settle down at the line. Each time, his routine is a little herky-jerky, if not downright spastic. He's too good a shooter to be shooting free throws so poorly.

 

Nice to see the team Pullin together to obliterate the Holes!

 

There were two (father/son) but the father (John) as an outstanding ref that I loved to see at road games and not so much at home games because he called a very even game. He was on the floor for two very famous end of Gator games. He called the T on the Vandy crowd for throwing a few tennis balls that allowed Dwayne S to hit two free throws to send the game to OT and we won. It was pivotal in winning the SEC regular season for the first time ever. He was also on the floor at the O'Dome again against Vandy when Stacey Poole hit the spinning game winner that Eddie Fogler always contended was a travel.

So while you might not like the elder Clougherty Vandy fans hate him with a red hot passion.

 

I love the depth of our frontcourt and backcourt. Just need to work on free throws and not making so many sloppy passes. Too many turnovers in spite of a very impressive win.

 

What a game! I had to start about 15 minutes after the game started & by the time i caught up, we were so far ahead I didn't want to jinx it and join the game thread.

So proud of the guys.

The team has some potential.

 

I had a good view on an angle from behind on the shot. I don’t know the details of the traveling rule, but Stacey definitely took a step to his left on the shot. TS Eddie!

We've got a pretty darn good team, IMO, considerably better than I expected. I just don't want to jinx them by getting my hopes up quite yet. I'm anxious to see what they do with a very good OOC schedule. If we find a way to win a couple of the tougher games, like maybe UM or WF, etc., CTG could start looking like a possible star in the making. That may be a long shot, due mostly to the youth/newness of the roster. Imagine what a shot in the arm that would be for the beleaguered Gator masses, going into the heart of the schedule and then on to post season play. I hope the FB team was in attendance...BN could tell them "That's how it's done boys".

Baylor next Friday. Huge game.

Best team we've had in a long time. Those two freshmen are absolute steals on the recruiting trail.

 

You might be correct and you might not be. We play Pitt first, and Baylor plays Oregon State. The outcomes will determine if we play Baylor.
Personally, I think we'll beat Pitt and Baylor thrashes Oregon State, so the UF v. Baylor matchup is likely.
Impressive how Baylor came out of nowhere in the last few years to become such a powerhouse.

 

I didn’t read the entire thread but just saw that Doug Shows was a ref in this game….51 fouls is typical for a Shows crew. I hate seeing his name on the crew at tip off.

 

Fogler lied about Billy D to the NCAA when Roy Williams falsely accused Billy of violations after he recruited Miller who Williams claimed as his property at Kansas. Billy was cleared and Fogler later recanted.

 

If one or both don't fade in SEC play that would be excellent. Both are looking tough and mature though. Quality minutes during tough games would make a difference.
