The combination of insurance companies and lawyers have been ripping off Americans for close to 100 years.

$3655 for a Prius? Is there a teenage driver on your policy?

LOL, it doesn't work like that. PIP and personal injury liability coverage costs are not dependent on the FMV of the vehicles involved.

Premiums for EVs and hybrids are rising in part because they are more likely to be declared total losses based on the cost of repairing them. Teslas, in particular, are outrageously expensive to repair. Additionally, Tesla has a poor repair parts network, meaning insurance companies would have to keep owners in rental cars longer.

    !. Insurance companies have lawyers.
    2. Very, very few lawyers make it on to jury panels, the people who award damages.

    That’s pretty weak.

Are you seriously trying to legitimize the ambulance chasing industry?

Insurance companies having lawyers also helps raise the rates on everything. It's just lawyer on lawyer crime and they bill by the hour.

OP would you rather defeat Disney or have affordable insurance? That's the price you pay for battling transgenders and the woke

Yep, I called our insurance company (Progressive) a couple of months ago after our renewal. My wife's 2020 car is worth twice my 2012, but my car's insurance is higher. Safety features and the cost of repairs due to the availability of parts are the reasons I was told.
Almost makes me want to buy a new car.

Does it have the do with the difficulty of stealing a Tesla and no black market to sell
    Parts.

That’s odd I have 5 cars insured, all full coverage and my 6 month renewal with progressive is $2380. That’s for a 2020 MB GLC, 2018 GLE, 2012 colorado, 09 BMW 328i, and a 2020 Jetta.

Seems like you need to switch or there’s more to the story.

And not to mention the price to repair them in the event of an accident.

Believe it or not, your credit rating has a lot to do with how much you pay for auto insurance.

I've had a credit score a few points on either side of 800 for many years. My Progressive insurance rate for a 2014 Dodge Charger has increased nearly 100% in the last three years (was $107 per month, now $211).

It is not a Porsche that's for sure. I have a Genesis G70 3.3T. It's plenty quick and has great brakes (I opted for the package with big Brembos). It's heavy as hell but I never plan on tracking it. I do have some mods planned like an ECU/TCU swap (but on a mild map). 400whp is my end goal with some styling changes but nothing crazy.

I live in Gainesville and have used Allstate with full coverage for five vehicles, we have our three kids on our polices also. Our rates really haven't budged much in the past 3 years maybe a few hundred $ . Thanks Governor DeSantis

Quite possibly the most ignorant post of all time. Unfortunately it will gain traction on the left

The knee jerk reaction of the poorly informed is to always blame the lawyers. They fail to look at the independent components of coverage that make up the premium. One just needs to look at your policy details on your company's website where this is all broken down and can be compared from year to year. Increases in comprehensive, collision and property damage liability coverage are not related to lawsuits, rather to the increasing value of cars, either replacing or repairing them. Increases in PIP, towing, rental car coverage similarly have nothing to do with lawyers. Increases in UM coverage are attributable to other people driving with no insurance or minimum (crap) coverage. The one insurance component PI attorneys (I an NOT one) can potentially reasonably affect is personal injury liability coverage.
