Some UVa fans were saying afterwards that the win over Florida wasn’t a big deal because we didn’t know if they were good.
FSU was picked 8th/9th, lower part of the middle of the pack in the ACC. You don’t see this type of beatdown of a high major very often.
I could see that you were very good, and that was with missing your PG. I’m glad we played you before Pullen came back. I was surprised that more of your fans didn’t factor in that UVa got an absurd amount of turnovers with a defense that is not designed to create turnovers, it’s meant to create bad shots. It actually does NOT create turnovers because defenders have to stay within the packline and not gamble by trying to get steals. Florida created those turnovers with sloppy ball handling. The last time we had 15 turnovers against another team was 5 years ago against a sub-200 RPI team.
Florida will challenge for the SEC title and finish no worse than 4th, and will enter the tournament as a dangerous 5-6 seed.
