Thailand is thinking about deploying Chinese policemen near tourist spots in Thailand so that Chinese tourists will feel more at home. I can't imagine what could go wrong there . . . besides Chinese police harassing Chinese citizens to go home and face their political trials and the inevitable guilty verdict.

It turns out that Italy has been using Chinese police for this also. Italy has the largest number of secret Chinese police stations of any country in Europe.

The CCP hurt itself as they oppressed. They were so intent on taking control and purging dissident thought that they didn’t care about the economic harm of destroying the spirit of a financial center

The latest from China? They are using a large number of their 2 million internet monitors to actively screw with Americans' social media, especially if there is any attempt to criticize China. It's called spamouflage or Dragonbridge. They basically took the Russian model for internet disinformation and put it on steroids, with the inclusion of direct harassment of anyone that does not have a high opinion of China. It is a fascinating article--definitely worth reading. If they ever discovered Gator Country (and this thread), no one would be able to use this forum at all. It would be like a thousand Duggars Dads descended on the forum, spouting lies and propaganda non-stop around the clock. Forum managers would find themselves playing whack-a-mole with the huge number of spammers generating accounts and spreading lies.

Western businesses are pulling billions of dollars out of China, with China suffering a $12 billion deficit in the 3rd quarter. Many businesses are not pulling out completely from China, but they are not reinvesting their profits in China.

Biden and Xi sign an agreement to keep AI out of nuclear weapons control systems. I'm not sure a communist country can be trusted to keep their agreements. If AI in nuclear weapons gives China an asymmetrical advantage over the U.S., then that's what they'll pursue. We can wag a finger at them from the nuclear wreckage, until they start giving us orders on what to do.

Your Twitter post quoted does not show the prison camps (Oakland?) for abusing all of the homeless people and protestors that would have to be removed from San Fran to make the image possible.

Obviously, we could do the same thing without China. Just bring in a Rudy Guiliani (the 1990's version, not the 2020's version) on steroids and have him clean up the crime and get rid of the homeless people. Expand San Quentin by 10x, and send the criminals there, and send the vagrants to camps in Oakland or Stockton. The U.S. generally doesn't work that way.

TikTok, China's social media platform for controlling westerners, has become famous with a post luring young Americans to hate America and support the views of Osama bin Laden. About 14 million Americans responded to the post, with many ("dozens"?) professing their hatred for American policies (which were equated to being terroristic for U.S. support of Israel) and support for the ideas of Osama bin Laden (most of the posts were criticizing those who supported bin Laden).

TikTok has since taken the post down and claims not to support terrorism.

The U.S. has the upper hand in negotiations with China, as China desperately needs U.S. corporations to continue investing in China. Biden is negotiating to stop Chinese fentanyl shipments to the Americas, and to resume military communications between the two countries. Hopefully, he will also work on getting them to stop attacking U.S. social media with lies, and stop stealing western technology through hacking, as well as reducing China's military spending. It may be better to avoid doing business with Xi completely, and allow his economy to fail and for Xi be retired. Xi cannot be trusted, in my opinion.

Joe Biden's enormous economy is growing faster than little China's and Xi came with hat in hand.

Say what you want about Boebert she is always wrong - easy to relate?
