Chip Kelly likely out at UCLA...could he be our OC..only 1000 pages to go

Zero interest. Oregon has shown itself to be a school with certain advantages over most of the other schools on their schedule, players and coaches go there and blow up, coaches leave there and flop as Kelly has. The bloom off the rose for me.

Considering how long most coaches seem to stay in one place before moving on, I think he's still young enough to take over a perennially downtrodden program.

He went 12-1, 10-3, 6-4. You consider that successful? I would consider that successful in the opposite order, but not the way he did it.

 

Chip was quoted saying that he doesn't like recruiting because you have to fly across the country and it takes so much time. He also said he enjoys the Xs and Os of football. He said this when he was coach of the eagles.

 

If he doesn't like recruiting, we don't need him taking a coaching position. I'd be more than happy to let Billy continue to be OC and hire a Special Teams coach if that's the choice to be made.

 

I don't remember UCLA having a better stretch of football over the last three decades. They are stupid for this firing.

 

Why? I do not understand why the entire fanbase is so gun-shy about Kerwin. I think he'd have the best run here since Urban.

Having loads of money and being good at management are two different things.

 

It's actually common knowledge from his own words. It was all over these boards when we thought we were getting him.

 

I don't disagree, but I also don't think he's going to be OC here. Personally, I think he'd do a good job.
