Adress this with the administration. I'm sure that Napier will push as far as he is allowed, even further in the case of NIL since it's the wild wild west phase.
I don't get the attitude of not participating in bidding. I get you have a limit, but you have to raise your hand too. If not, this will just be a regular program with occasional success when things break right, mixed with a lot of mediocrity.
This is how I feel too. I was clinging to the hope that better days are ahead. Just make it through this season with some positive vibes and keep the class together. Just when you think we hit the bottom, we break out the shovels and dig the pit a little deeper. Really depressing
I’d guess the staff has their hands full trying to get so many young guys up to speed. If they were in their third year, there would be more time at practice to fine tune some things.
If we don’t have hope as fans that we are working towards winning, the casual fans, which are most fans, will become disinterested. I have a choice of the fsu game or a cruise with my fiancé and our kids. I’m taking the cruise. More than likely I wouldn’t enjoy the game nearly as much as sitting on my ass for a week with family. I sure hope we kick fsus ass though.
It’s probably best for our coach and administrators to stay out of the way. The less they know, the better. There’s no need for them to get their hands dirty. Saban and Smart probably aren’t involved what’s in any of tgat but they know it happens before they took the job.. it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if that’s part of the understanding when coaches are hired. Stay out of the way and let the big money boosters work their magic.
It’ll be alright. Let’s see what we end up with in those spots. Bait hurts more than the other two because of need.it won’t hurt my feeling if those roster spots are taken by portal lbs and oline. We need some upper classmen in those areas. We have talent coming in this class at lb but they will take a couple years to reach their full potential. Shemar is really to only guy we have back there that has a chance to be elite.
I agree with this 100%, the jury is still out on the portal and it’s effects on team building (which I personally think will be negative). Having said that, I think it can be a valuable tool, one that can’t be ignored. If your “evaluation process” is too lengthy for the portal then it has to evolve to be a HC in 2023, simple as that. If you are driving down the road and get a flat tire do you patch the tire and go on with your trip or wait for a new car to be built? Maybe that patched tire isn’t optimum but it might help get you where you are going. If you want to the destination you may have to buy some parts along the way.
It’s the new reality of college football in 2023. Do you want to win or are you just here to collect checks?
And this is what has mostly killed my interest in college football; it's become lower-quality pro football - without the draft or rules about tampering and rookie contracts. That, in turn, makes me question why individual coaches and players should be shielded from fan criticsm. They're being paid, and there are lots of examples of them choosing a team for almost entirely financial reasons. With that comes different expectations than for amateurs.
I know UF is bidding, comment was directed at some sentiments of posters. If it was them and they were looking for a job, i bet if another firm swooped in offering 20% more they would either accept it, or make it know to get counter offers. To act like these recruits are doing anything different from everyone else by maximizing their value is a joke or just childish.
