Congrats to @tegator80 & @eastowest for their prediction ETN would have the 1st Gator TD against LSU. I think most agreed, the only way we had a chance against LSU would rest upon the shoulders of the offense. The offense did play very well, but the defense who is ranking towards the bottom against SEC competition couldn't get enough stops. I will give credit to where it is due with the young D stopping LSU with the goal line stand. That's really about as much praise we can give them. They are young and it's a 1st year system with a 1st year D coordinator. I think most Gators just want to see progress on that side of the ball and it's just not there yet. We have 2 very tough opponents with very good offenses left to show some progress and get bowl eligible. Mizzou is more of the same as LSU but with a much better defense. This is going to take some big mistakes from Mizzou to get this dub!!! 1st Gators TD against Mizzou will be a slant from Mertz to Wilson. Go Gators!!!
I actually think we match up well with them. Georgia was just better, and we made some poor decisions. Arkansas was so beatable it is almost laughable, and we did not match up well with LSU. There is no reason with our athletes we cannot compete with anyone.
Hope you’re right. 45 degrees at kickoff, their offense is very good and their D will be the 2nd best D we’ve played this year.
