I may be putting words in some posters' mouths (especially those whose username begins with "aka") but when I thought we did not have the players we thought we had in their freshmen year because, while they were nice, they were not ready for the NBA, "some posters" said that Tre was not fully developed but Scottie was, just that he needed to learn how to play at a higher level.

Maybe "those posters" thought the NBA relished anyone who could gyrate to standing from a prone position.

Lewis had NBA athleticism to go with his high school skill set.

His high school skill set was great. He played out on top in space. Why would Mike White play him the same way in college when he could shove him into a corner and let him watch Mann and Appleby dribble around in circles.

I mentioned this before, but the best and most naturally that I ever saw Scottie play was a game where he was asked to play point guard in what I think was a Summer League game. I wasn’t expecting it, but he had some really high level passes and it was really impressive. He turned it over a little more than I’d have liked, but they were easy things to clean up. IMO, he looked more comfortable and dynamic at point than he did at SG.

In a side note, it appears as if both CC and Fudge are now back playing G-league.

I saw that Fudge was back playing with the Lakers about a week ago. He entered the game in the last 3 or 4 minutes - long after the Lakers starters had gone to the bench early in the 4th quarter - and scored the Lakers final bucket in a 138-94 loss to the 76ers.

So, no matter what happens, both he and Castleton can tell their grandchildren they scored in an NBA regular season game! Hopefully, they end up doing much more than that...

He had a little ( not quite as bad) of the Chris Walker “explosive straight line athlete, but limited basketball skill” gene

    In terms of……?

I grant the Chris Walker comparison is maybe too much, but in the time I saw him here as a Gator, although athletically gifted, he was loose with the ball, never really looked fluid, was an inconsistent shooter with that exaggerated arc.

In a different system with more time , who knows?

Prather developed into a great player, but to me looked similar as a freshman ( minus the arc, his shots were flat)

Castleton and Fudge received championship medals tonight in the ceremony following the Lakers winning the in-season tournament (it's a new thing this year for those who don't follow the NBA).

I assume they also both got the half a million bucks that each player on the winning team got. Righteous bucks for players in their situation!

Dateline December 15, 2023. Lakers play the Spurs. Lose game but not a real blowout (presumably). Davis is out due to injury. CC gets 5+ minutes of real game time (Fudge not known). 3-3 on offense (6 points), 1 rebound, 1 assist. This is a REALLY good thing for him. Way to go Colin!!!

Just a heads up, CC is still mainly in the G-league, although he was sitting at a game last week but did not get into it. Fudge was waived early in January to sign a wing player. Will probably need to go oversees.

Saw CC get in the last couple of minutes of the Lakers' victory over Portland a couple of days ago. He scored 4 points (1 for 1 from the field and 2 for 2 from the FT line) and got a rebound or two in garbage time. Good to see him hanging on!

Saw a boxscore where CC got in another Lakers game this week and scored 2 points. He's hanging in there it seems, but I don't always see him on the bench in their televised (on ABC, ESPN, NBA Channel or TNT) games.
