All the zero loss league champions are in. Right now in the running are: Washington, Georgia, FSU, OSU, and Michigan. If FSU stays unbeaten, they are 100% in the playoffs since OSU and Michigan have to play each other. If they drop a game, however, it could get a bit dicey.
Are personal nightmare FSU vs Gawga in the finals Gawga will win the next 10, I’ll never see UF win the cocktail party again .
Never say never. One of my favorite memories was us knocking them out of the #1 ranking on the last game of the year. No NC for them. Was so sweet.
The already did? The got pumped by Oregon, like "we dont belong" pumped, same thing happens to them this year unless we save them from that humiliation
Which is enough to make a loyal gator sick. A few years ago, they were on the ropes, broke, losing to the cupcakes. Now, they could play for it all, for a second time, before we do. With all of our resources--which way exceed theirs-here we are. On the outside looking in.
“The Greatest Game Ever Played in The Swamp" in ‘97? I believe those were ACC refs so there is hope yet.
They always have an easier faster path back in the ACC. There are probably ten or more teams that would have one loss or less with their schedule. Which is why stuff like this is staring to pop up. Their SOS will only go down in their last two regular season games as well. But politically the committee won’t shut out an undefeated P5 team unless there’s five of them. What will be interesting is what happens if Bama beats UGA in Atlanta though. If spots basically hold, Alabama will have played three teams higher ranked than FSU’s best win to (UT, Ole Miss and UGA). And they also played FSU’s best win on top of that. Hard to see how they get denied a slot. The Noles schedule is really soft overall. Though Louisville could be one good win for them if they survive at Miami and home to Kentucky. So an undefeated B10 team, and undefeated PAC12 team…they would have to put FSU in over the 2 time defending national champs in that scenario. Whose only loss is to a team that at that point will likely be ranked a fair bit higher than anyone the Noles have played. I would bet the committee is rooting for UGA so they don’t have to deal with it.
The sec championship is the national championship. Bama losing to Texas hurts them for sure. First game of the year and I’d be very comfortable taking Bama over Texas now. I don’t think anyone will beat either and if so, I won’t be fsu. Osu maybe but still I don’t see it. Washington’s defense looks average. Michigan offense looks muschampish. Whatever happened to putting the four best teams in? Undefeated though, I get it, that’s deserves a spot. Any one loss team over Georgia if Bama beats them is total bs though. Georgia is going to beat Bama too I think but Bama has the best shot to take them.
