Not sure why they promoted him from interim, but not allow him any time to do anything (less than a year). Why not go out and hire a coach then?
I was thinking it was the timing of Leach’s passing but just saw it was December 12 so plenty of time to hire someone. Maybe so shocked by it they just reacted to promote him and didnt think long term.

They will probably try to make a splash name hire here. Jimbo, Mullen 2.0, Muschamp, Coach O, Scott Frost, etc. They should’ve hired Jamey Chadwell last year, he’s rolling and well paid at Liberty now. I would drive right down the road to New Orleans and hire Willie Fritz. They need someone who can recruit and has a plug-n-play offense. This is probably the closest to the truth. They had made a bowl game and didn't want to upset the team's apple cart any more than it already was. Made sense at the time but 10 months later is enough time to evaluate.
I definitely think that TAMU hires Lame Kitten. I kid about him some but he can coach and recruit and that is what it takes to win. I think that Miss State will probably hire Mullen if he wants to get back into coaching but I could be wrong.
Man, I’m with you on Lane to TAMU, but not sure about Mullen. I think he’s done with the grind. It’s full go on the wakeboards and the Celsius.
