Skylar is Skylar. Enough said. Jocey is the best thing we have picked up in quite some time and is headed to a superstar level. I truly believe Reagan is on track for a dynamite breakout season. Kendra sets the table. Korbe hasn't done a lot yet but I am confident she will. The young freshmen haven't done much at the plate yet. Time will tell. Looks like third base is going to come down to Brooke or Ariel....or a platoon. For whatever reason, Lefty and Alyssa did not play at all today.
Unless Hovermale is hurt, I'll be very surprised if she doesn't end up as our third baseman. Also, if healthy, Pollard has to be in the lineup somewhere, right?
I just got back from Orlando. Johnny hit the nail on the head: UCF is a better team than we are used to. The starting pitcher, Sarah, has so many movements in her windup that it distracts the hitter. Delivering the pitch takes her so long that the batter sometimes loses focus. Sarah is definitely a good pitcher and held us in check, except for Skylar's bomb. As far as Ava, she struggled at times, but CTW tested her today to see how she would react to adversity. And, she acquitted herself well. When you were 84-0, it would be easy to be rattled, giving up hits and runs like she did today. Jocey's bomb made her 85-0. Keagan came in and had a shaky start but settled down. I was really impressed by her. Her mother, father, and other pitching coach were there. Her mother was happy with her performance after her shaky beginning. I knew she had another pitching coach, but I had no idea it was a male. He is a really nice guy, and I look forward to seeing him in Gainesville. Overall, it was a good day for the Gators, but they will improve as we go on. What fun to watch these ladies! There will be some growing pains, but it is a bright future.
The top of the batting lineup of Kendra, Korbe, Skylar, Jocey and Reagan is unreal. Can’t pitch around anyone. Future hit parade!
Lefty...yes....not so sure that Alyssa will make the starting lineup this year. Actually, I forgot about Lefty in my comment about Brooke or Ariel taking third. I think Lefty and Mia both have to be starting in the infield so one or the other will play second and the other third.
Yes...off-topic so give the button a rest. Interesting tidbit though.....Shaq's daughter signs with UF basketball. Shaq's daughter Me'Arah signs to play for Gators
Don't count out AK and Brooke. They played 3rd yesterday. In the last 3 innings, Reagan played 2nd, and Mia played SS. I was glad to see that to get the experience. Avery started at 1st, I believe Ava played the last 3 innings there. Ava also hit for herself when she was pitching. Jocey made the error on a throw to third. The 3rd baseman was charging, and Sky tried to cover, but the throw was wide left. That scored 1 run. Jocey has a gun. She was 1 for 2 on steals of 2nd. She was a little high on the first one, but on the second, Sky was waiting with the ball when the runner got there.
Yep but I'm thinking you've got to get Lefty and Mia in there so Reagan likely more DP and first base.
Reagan's bat needs to be in the batting order, but we have better defensive infielders at every spot, IMO.
This. Double this. I feel it in my bones that Reagan is going to have a breakout year at the plate. With her power and what is becoming more consistency, she can be a real force in this lineup. The top of this lineup is very strong with Kendra, Skylar, Korbe, Jocey and Reagan. That's a wining top five.
You can add C, 2B and RF to the platooning rotation. CTW has so much talent and he has to keep the players happy. My guess is he'll go with the hot hand for starts and in late innings, the best defense. He definitely needs to find ways to get Emily and Baylee in games.
Just think. This year he will actually be able to use pinch hitters that actually can hit. Going to be a great season. Really looking forward to it.
