Mullen’s ranks were skewed as many never made it to the football field. One never got his visa. So many players in his classes that never played a down but looked good on paper was all.
Kiffy remains to be seen. Ole miss is not a premier program. Mullen had his shot and failed miserably. Kiffy will get his shot somewhere.
We will probably see on year soon. It’ll probably be his one and only big shot, better pick the right school.
It remains to be seen if Kiffy is lazy and stubborn and plays favorites with his coaches and players. I can’t stand Kiffy and don’t want him but he may win given a first class school to buy him talent.
My analogy for the corporate compensation would be if the salaries of football players were determined by a committee of baseball and basketball players. And then the baseball players would be determined by football and basketball players, and so on. The guys sitting on those compensation committees know that there are other people sitting on their own committees, who determine their own salaries. So they are extremely generous, knowing that they will be returned the favor.
There’s no cap to protect tge leagues or boosters. Just keep raising the stakes to an artificial number not supported by the actual revenue generated.
We all knew A&M made a mistake when they gave Jimbo that 10 year contract extension. Didn't Mich St follow right behind with their massive contract for Tucker? At this point, I think A&M would've been better off keeping him for at least a couple of years and hoping he somehow lucked out one year like he did at FSU. I guess if big money wants a change, change happens.
I suppose if you are a teen then ten years might seem like a long time ago. You will find out it is not that long. Bottom line is both Mullen and Kiffin have been fired by big time programs.
I’m almost collecting ss and how long ago was Tenn and usc, it’s been a minute. He’s been the oc for national championship and head coach at two programs since then where he’s brought both programs to better days. He’s earned his second shot.
If you are that old then you should be able to admit when you are wrong. 'You stated Mullen was fired from a premier program, he's got that on Kiffy'. I pointed out where you are incorrect and now you are trying to spin it as if ten years is a long time ago and doesn't count. Please be refreshing and admit you were wrong and let's move on.
