Actually he had all the leverage. He already had a job. UF was the one who came calling. His agent gave terms and UF accepted.

He also said that he doesn't accept that particular undisciplined play and they will get that under control. Don't cherry pick statements to fit your narrative.

If you've been paying attention to both Jayden Daniels and our defense all season, you should have known that we'd need to score no less than 50 to beat them.

I miss having a coach like this. Has a winner's mentality. Dissatisfied with losing.

    Current coach:
"I like this group of guys."
"We did some things well at times "
"We had a good week of practice."
    etc

He had the nervous fidgets going last night in the presser and that is increasing weekly as the temp rises. But he still says the same useless coach speak in the pressers.

Only issue with that is that we'd be on DC #4 in 4 seasons if we did that.

Get rid of Armstrong, don’t hire a new DC . Hire a 3rd O-Line coach and just let the defensive players call the D. Freestyle it , can’t be worse

Doesn’t fit the narrative. So that part(the main part), is left out.

Both teams did not play much defense.
However, for Florida the 700 yards is really embarrassing. That 700 is what we expect to gain on a Div 3 team.

Switch Jayden for Mertz and we likely win yesterday.

Urban Meyer – “youth is no excuse.“ Billy Napier – “we started 30% freshman.“

Urban Meyer – “we have to find guys they give everything. Some guys are but not everyone and we will figure that out.“ Billy Napier – “players did what we told them to.”

I was happy that our team came out chippy last night. Obviously, you do not want personal fouls, but football is a violent game. When urban walked out of that press conference with tears in his eyes, some people thought he showed weakness. To me, it was passion. Not saying, Billy Napier must show that, but his team does need to, and he needs to not except this crap from coaches, players, or anyone, including himself.

All of the above is to say that I did not hear the same thing in those two press conferences, nor were the messages delivered in the same way. Just my opinion

Hire cheaper, incentivize more. Maybe a setup that sets the salary at the $1 lower than the current lowest in the SEC if you go .500 or below but $1 higher if you win it all plus bonuses. Any coach that really is good and believes it could make $12M+ where a cellar dweller will get $3M.

That is not an incentive. I would rather take the guaranteed money and buyout. An incentive is double the salary for a 10 win season or more to offset a reduced buyout. All of today's contracts favor the coach. That is not going to change if you want an experienced coach.
Your example may work if you hire an assistant coach up to HC.

Well yes I was just making an easy observation. I don't do executive salary negotiation for a living but the idea is to incentivize winning.

And I think it would work with an experienced coach who might be comfortable where they are. If I'm making say $4.85M to coach Oregon State, why jump to Florida for $7M and pressure? You're probably not going to notice a quality of life difference. Now, for a potential $12-13M you could change a few minds. That's your great great grandkids second cousin's dog groomer not having to worry about money kind of pay.

Not saying we should hire Oregon States coach I just picked a decent sub $5M coach.
