Was seriously thinking the same. Haven't heard if he has the heart to coach anymore, though. Halfway could see Mullen get sniffed at. He could probably win with their talent. Just would have to have some sort of GM over him to make sure he doesn't bring his buddy DC, make roster management decisions, and recruit.
There are about $100 million reasons he gets the heart to coach again...sad to say but I had visions of a post Napier (insert your own time table here) Urban return to Gville with Spikes, Siler, Tebow and Percy coming in as assistants (dont pop my bubble its been a long year/two years/decade and I may still be partially drunk after last night). One thing I can assure you is there wouldn't be any in game fraternizing with the opposing team under Urban...
Who said fire? I think we're stuck with CBN as long as ATM was stuck with Bimbo. I still have hope he turns things around. I am beginning to think, though, he is going to be like a Bimbo and probably stockpile talent that he can't win games with. I think it's ultimately telling, though, that our head coach doesn't get the credit he clearly deserves for the job he's doing by being named to the short list of potential replacements for a high end P5 head coach opening.
I would lol if Norvell jumps… leave the dying ACC for a big dog (could be) SEC team?. So funny to think about.
Interesting timing. aTm’s recruiting was pretty good with classes ranked #9 in 2021, #1 in 2022, #10 in 2023, and projected #9 in 2024. The only knock against his recruiting is that his transfer classes with the portal have been ranked in the 100s until recently where he is in the 20s. I can only assume aTm thinks there is a $100M coach waiting in the wings. For comparison, Napier is projected to land the #4 class in 2024 and recruited #16 transfer class with a #12 high school class in 2023 and a #20 transfer class with a #17 high school class in 2022. Florida is also less likely to fire Napier with more than $20M in buyout knowing it will take $60M to hire a young coach or $100M to get a veteran coach.
Uhh the QB wasnt tasked with tackling uga last evening. Lane really produced anything but sparks no fire anywhere he has been oops i forgot about the burning couches as he left knoxville, sorry
Agreed BUT if AandM comes calling he will take the call. More money than FAU can afford. Better recruiting and NiL budget. In the SEC. Out of the dying ACC. FAU is gonna lose ALOT of talent this year.. and have t prepared the players behind said talent to take up the slack. I can see a lot of reasons he would leave..
It's like monopoly money to them. Donations and taxpayer cash that supports facilities that are untaxable. TAMU has zero real risk.
