Critical call on 3rd down. Just gave up lead and needed to score to keep pace. Overturned call = punt = LSU extends lead to 2 scores.

did not see basis for reversal of catch on the field.

Reversal was just one of many calls against the Gators that influenced the game along with a very noticeable "no Call" that should have been against LSU.
    1. Personal foul against Florida when a Florida player retaliated after being hit by an LSU player right in front of the official who saw the LSU guy throw a punch.
2.Gator player run off the field almost to the stadium wall...should have been a personal foul. We would have lost the game anyway but this proves why LSU has almost always gotten the call. Thrown shoe remembered !

The refs need to be remediated. It is that simple. It is probably about several issues, but in the end, if you can't get instant replay right (unless it is about too short a time period to get it correct) then it is a broken system altogether. Unfortunately, methinks there are folks who like it just the way it is. "Truth" be damned.

Either the catch rules are convoluted (plausible but not likely in this case) or they are NOT following the letter of the law: if replay does not indisputably change the original call, then the original call stands. There is no "50.01-99.99 percent sure" call, it is 100 percent or no reversal. The catch was a catch because they called it that way, and if they had called it incomplete then it would still be incomplete.

You didn't see it because its tough to see things that are invisible. The standard is supposed to be clear evidence to overturn a call on the field. Another critical botched call that goes against the Gators. Is anyone surprised at all?

There was no way in the world that should have been overturned. It was not 100% clear that the ball even touched the ground. It's sad when the opinion of 1 man can decide such an important play. He basically created a turnover for LSU and changed the momentum.

Come on Guys, Birmingham was ensuring that that the ranked SEC teams continue to be ranked. It is about the money that top tier bowl games provide. UF is on the outside looking in. On UF's last drive, it wasn't the SEC handcuffing our team, but I suspect Vegas was trying to protect the point spread. I understand trying for a td on the final plays, but due to suspected Vegas interference, I would have loved to have kicked the field goal on the final play to beat the spread and give the international salute!

Honestly, I've become against replays in general. It prolongs the game and what started as an augmented tool for refs is now the basis of all calls. One area where I think it is way overused is determining the spot where camera angles seem to be ignored sometimes. Then, you have baffling calls like the safety in FSU - Miami game where they still get it wrong.

I'd rather live with the human errors in real time and lets keep play going.

See, above, its about the money. ACC protecting their one playoff contender. Clearly a safety.

Mertz got fists to the head after a pass and Ricky gets helmet to helmet on the reception...but no ref saw it....really? 0 for 2 on one play guys.

Ball down at 3 for ETN at the goal line and they spot it to the 5 (probably the Georgia ref calling that one in)

Our RB getting tackled out of bounds somewhere between the hot dog cart in row 45 and the portolet in section B of the parking lot and no late hit...

This may be done already, but whoever ultimately made that call should be forced to sit down with his superiors and explain it. I don't know how in the world that can be justified. Reminded me of the Outback bowl several years ago where Spurriers Gamecocks got hosed on the spot even though it clearly showed the ball well short of the marker.

I don’t believe that conferences meddle in officiating to protect teams, but I didn’t agree with either of those calls. Sometimes there are bad calls, even after replay.

I thought maybe it was the whiskey on that one, but he sure looked to be down at the 3 and darn it if they didn't spot him a whole 2 yards back. o_O Thankfully, we ran it in on the next play, but jeepers.

Just like with the Georgia game, if it takes four minutes to determine if the call on the field should be overruled, then it is inconclusive. You need clear evidence to overrrule. The ball never touched the grond, so how could there have been clear evidence? We were still in the game at that point, and could have finished the drive with a TD and retaken the lead. At least the game would have gone down to the wire and anything could happen. As it was, I went home with 6 minutes on the clock knowing we were screwed and had no chance of a comeback.

I see this far too often for it to be incidental... I wonder if our AD ever even pressures the SEC on these matters?

If there is one thing S.S. can do better it's pointing out overt cheating by the refs.

As long as the conferences are in charge of their officiating and there is great monetary reward for ranked teams to succeed, the possibility and /or the appearance of bias is a reality. And then there's the gambling industry embedded in the CFB business nowadays. I guess the expectation is to believe the best and guardians of a billion dollar enterprise are straight up an honest.
