First, you have to define what is a horse. You know, it may look like a horse and sound like a horse, but it may be a pony or a mule. That takes time. Then you have to find them. If you are going to do it right, you need to find a stallion and several mares and let them do what comes natural. Then you wait for the foals to reach maturity and see what you have. Then you figure out whether the stallion and mares were good or merely adequate. Then if they are merely adequate, you go and find more stallions and mares and do it all over. And if there is a shortage of stallions and mares, you just try harder.

My point? This all takes time. Rome wasn't built in a day. Um, come to think of it, it took millions of years for the horse to evolve. So, guys and gals, we will get it right...in a million years or so. PATIENCE!

Worst defensive performance in school history under new clock rules.

Defense isn’t going in the right or wrong direction. It’s going in no direction.

Two things can be true at the same time. Our LBs are bad, our good Dl and safeties are freshman. AND we just allowed 700 yards, got beat by a horrible Arkansas O, Utah fresh qb beat us, and we give up record stats regularly (UK). I’m not saying we are loaded but we look like a bad D2 defense now. You cannot possibly excuse the depths of this failure just on players.

We have a full football team in the talent rich state of florida. You can “magic” that this all gets solved with new players but if hard questions are not asked about coaches, our issues will not be solved (and I’m not talking BN - he has to fix this garbage by hiring elite coaches).

He’d rather outsource to a guy with no experience because you know, the process. You’ve gotta trust the process regardless of the wins or losses it gives you.

Ultimately, our D has been abysmal for 3-4 years now. Earlier in the year maybe thought there were signs of life. But at this point it’s still rock bottom.

I mean something is clearly broken right now on defense. Idk what it is. We seem to be getting progressively worse which is concerning. Our freshmen safety that played so well early season has regressed. Our corners are constantly getting burned. Our DL, which early season was commended for gap discipline has regressed. Our LBs haven’t improved all season and might actually be getting worse as time goes by and can barely do anything right. I see effort I think, but something is wrong. They shouldn’t be this bad.

How does a kid who got 600+ yards never even get hit? You expect exhaustion, grass stains and blood on his uniform, but that guy was clean as when he came out of the tunnel. I dunno, maybe our defense knew he was coming off concussion protocol and wanted to ensure his long-term health? Unbelievable.

In about 5 years, all these coaches on our staff will be selling Home Owners Insurance.

The UF athletic department basically overpaid these guys just so they can get our doors blown off each week. Whoever let this crime to the University of Florida happen should be banned from setting foot in Gainesville.

IMO, when you have a limited defense (lack of good bodies), you decide what is the outcome. You give up passes because you are "all-in" to stop the run. You can also do the opposite, but unless the other team's run blocking is poor, this isn't an option. We did neither, except for the goal line stand. That is a sign of something more than pure player personnel issues.

Not sure how the coaches can scheme any better as players were there to make the plays and they didn’t. Guys were getting blown up, whiffing or taking horrendous angles. I get that’s all coaching, but when you’re playing in the moment, it’s on you.

I guess the issue is, are the coaches trying to do too much with this young team and they are overthinking instead of reacting on defense? That’s probably more the problem than not coaching enough IMO.

And first time in school history we've given up at least 39 points in 4 straight games. I could see that being 6 straight by the time the dust settles.
