Why? I'm talking about LSU's offense.

They do this to elite teams, why wouldn't we expect them to do it to us, regardless who the coach is.

When you have our players yiu want to get in a phone booth and play. There is NO scheme holds up defending spread concepts with our front 7 period. Secondary is out of position and we arent very good at the safety position. Im willing to trade success for experience snd maturity

Billy rightly prioritized loading up with defensive talent in the 2024 class. Will it be enough probably not but with portal help we might surprise some next year.

The one thing that appears to be taking hold is team chemistry and core leadership that wont be watered down with portal additions, time will tell

We made Arkansas offense look elite, too.
Common denominator is that we are in the catacombs on that side of the ball.

How many times tonight did you hear a DL name called?
How many times tonight did you hear a LB name called?
How many times tonight did you see a DB getting abused?
The defensive roster is vastly over thought of, imho, it’s group of 5-ish. Not one guy right now on defense would start for a good team, again imho.

It is also on the players, we watched Dean take bad angles for years. If the player doesn't take the coaching, then they need to be on the sideline and it's next man up. That is where my criticisms of the coaching starts.

All time worst performance and the same guys are still in there in the 4th quarter. It LITERALLY can't get any worse, give someone else a chance, I don't even care if they are a walk on.

I do not disagree, but to think that this is not a talent issue is delusional.

Yes, coaching may be a problem as well, but we are young and have some low tier SEC talent and it is just a bad combination. So, no matter who the coach was today this was going to be a nite mare. The next two weeks are going to be more of the same.

A P5 defense allowing 700 yards in a game is bad enough. But with these new running clock rules it's basically mpossible. Yet, we did it.

    Mind boggling.

Well a single guy putting up 600 yards on you is an outlier.

Kentucky? Charlotte who we barely beat, Vandy last year, etc. I can go on but product, on that side of the ball has not improved. The talent counterpoint simply doesn't hold weight.
Next week (hope I am wrong) will be a lot more reminiscent of Kent game but them being much better.

Auburn went from 98th last year in D to currently top 40 with a new staff.

    1. If it is not a talent issue, then who from this defense today would start on Ole Miss, Georgia, Alabama, or heck Mizzu?

    2. What talent tier do you think we have on defense compared to the rest of the SEC? To me we are no different than USCe, and that is not going to win you a lot of games.

Watching our 5* guy in Wingo get absolutely Mack trucked by a rb on their last scoring play was all I needed to see. Embarrassing.

Last year we blamed the leftover from Mullen players and Patrick Toney for defensive struggles

this year is “we don’t have talent” and don’t dare be critical of Austin Armstrong because he sounds like Kirby Smart.

I just hope this staff absolutely murders it in the portal next month.

If the thought is “we’re still going to to be young defensively next season”, then there’s NO excuses to not raid the portal for top end talent. Please staff don’t drag your feet!!

If talent is the problem why are we getting housed by a team like Kentucky with all 3*while our team consists of primarily 4*. Offense looks serviceable. Not sure what you can with the D
