A good article on Russian military idiocy, which may be the main reason that Ukraine is in this fight. Russia apparently needs to learn everything the hard way, after devastating attacks wipe out their equipment. The arrival of ATACMS did not persuade Russia to move its attack helicopters out of harm's way, in spite of all the advance notice that went out. Russia lost 14 K-52 helicopters in one day.

Ukraine's successful ATACMS strike shows Russia's willingness to 'take it on the chin' when Kyiv gets new weapons (yahoo.com)

Russia asks for weapons and parts back from countries it sold them to. Egypt has agreed to donate 150 helicopter engines to the hapless, hopeless country. Hopefully, Egypt wasn't stupid enough to take an I.O.U. Not sure what the U.S. sanctions on Egypt will do to their economy . . .

Russia has already reneged on delivering weapons it agreed to sell to India and Armenia.

Russia asks other countries to return weapons sold to them – WSJ (yahoo.com)

I think it would make things interesting if we donated a couple of old diesel submarines (with torpedoes) to Ukraine and told them where the ships delivering these weapons and parts would be. I would name the subs "Avdiivka" and "Bahkmut". :)

Ukraine destroys Russia "latest and greatest" air defense system, an S-300V4 in Tavriia. A little embarrassing that Russia's defense systems cannot seem to defend themselves.

Young people in Russia are not allowed to criticize the war, so they are destroying trains and train tracks instead. At least 137 young Russians have been arrested for railway destruction. Sounds they like are very supportive of Putin's crimes in Ukraine . . .

Protesting the Ukraine war is banned in Russia, so young people are sabotaging trains and railroad tracks instead: UK intel (yahoo.com)

If Egypt is taking Putin's side, then maybe our foreign aid to them needs to go away. If someone invades Egypt, screw em.

I’d be okay with no foreign aid. None to Ukraine or Israel as well.

Not at all saying they are true, I doubt they are, but the Putin is dead rumors are apparently still swirling around Russia. Hard to lead when people think you are dead. The fact that one of Putins cronies made a speech about Putin using past tense wearing a black suit.

‌’It required a leader who could put the welfare of the population at the top of the agenda, display the highest human and organisational qualities, will and dedication.

‘Such a leader was Putin, who first served as Prime Minister, then was elected President and, in accordance with the Constitution, became Chairman of the Russian Security Council. ‘He knew in detail the state of affairs in the country, had a clear programme of action, saw the goal, imagined the tasks that should be solved to achieve it, the sequence of steps, as well as the necessary forces, means and resources.

‌’At the same time he realised the critical importance of an evolutionary approach as opposed to revolutionary leaps, always weakening the Russian state. ‌’[He] believed in people and the reliability of their support and backing, realised and consciously assumed all responsibility for the salvation of the Fatherland.’‌

The evident ‘obituary’ came the day after Putin’s spokesman made a surprising admission that Patrushev had the full authority to speak for the Kremlin in matters regarding nuclear war.

I sure hope so. But I take info strictly from Ukrainian army/military with a grain of salt. But agree, it’s a good place to at least kick off further searches on the topic.

They are taking in Palestinian refugees fleeing hamas and Israeli battles. That is the best we can hope for from Egypt.

There is a good chance that Putin is just hiding in embarrassment over his failures as a leader. He may also be trying to root out anyone who would want to try to seize power. Russians are (barely) smart enough to not fall for this ploy.

Ukraine is thinking about destroying Putin's oil and gas industries. In fact, Ukraine's Energy Minister says that if Putin goes after his electric grid again this winter, Ukraine may go after Russia's oil and gas industries. I don't know if that presumes that Ukraine will have F-16's or not, but I would not put it past Ukraine to be able to do it.

If Ukraine is able to severely damage the oil refineries and gas processing plants, it's pretty much game over for Russia. The Russian economy would collapse fairly quickly. Some of the oil production is in Tobolsk (east side of the Ural Mountains), and may be out of reach, but some of the refineries are not too far from Ukraine.
