I was there too...sitting a couple of rows behind the Gator bench. Can you believe it's almost been 25 years?
Quick and coached to hammer on defense. On offense they handle the ball quick and get it to the open man. Great coaching, but the refs made sure their favorite team won. Walter was gassed at the end, but he is a warrior. We are going to get better.
Yeap-just like when you went to that Vandy game last year for football-hadn't lost to them at their place in ages-you go..lol
If it wasn’t for our recent troubles getting off the bubble, I wouldn’t be sweating this L at all. I’d just chalk it up as a sloppy game they let slip away. Unfortunately I still have PTSD from prior seasons we had “all the pieces” and just could never string big wins together. I do think this team definitely has more going for it according to the “eyeball test”. But nonetheless we were sloppy and came out with the L.
Even us UVa fans can’t stand Cory Alexander. Y’all want him? Besides talking about himself incessantly, he literally tried to help Florida win.
Several times UVA was impressive with their nice crisp passing, and passing is the best way to gas a defense.
I was also in Raleigh when Chandler Parsons hit a full court heave. I was in under the basket when he hit it. Miracle to bring the Wolfpack down. My oldest daughter went to State. She was pulling for the Gators, LOL
That must have been amazing. I remember losing my mind. I had a ticket to our Cheese Wisconsin win in NYC and didn't go. I instead went to watch us lose to SC in the Elite Eight.
Man I am kind of stoked. We have some dudes that can play, and if we can improve as the season goes along, we have a chance to do some damage imo. I LIKE OUR TEAM!
Lost a lot of respect for their coach when he was screaming at Cory Alexander for doing the right thing and telling the refs they missed it (when asked) since the TV replay clearly showed it was Florida ball during that extended review. I mean, was he hoping Alexander would lie and not tell the truth?! Scumbag.
Sucks to lose but some real positives. Excited to see how this team comes together. Pullins back for fsu?
I’m happy with all our additions. Front court is looking damn good, despite having a “lowly midmajor transfer” starting at C. I think Golden hit it out of the park on both the 2 transfer bigs and the 2 freshmen. Jury might be somewhat out on Clayton, but I don’t think you can judge a guy on 1 night. He looks “solid”, but obviously you need great guard play to get anywhere in CBB. I do think it’s important Pullin is legit. Not because of Clayton’s struggles, but Kugel and Richard are also a bit loose when they dribble around too much. Hopefully it turns out Pullin is rock solid, and that just lightens the load on all the other guards and allows Clayton to be more of a combo guard. I guess we’ll see when he debuts…
