Continue to improve, takes only 1 more win to be bowl eligible, so that's something to strive for.

Yep. I watched Muschamp lose a game to Ga Southern at like 3 AM in my rack in Oki.

If your example represents the minority why bother.

That goes for a lot of teams. Everyone is going to average another loss or two. The schedules are just tougher in the sec and undefeated seasons are already tougher to come by in tge sec. The free wins to pas records are getting slimmer.

I’m not sure I’m in the minority, but generally speaking I don’t think it’s a great practice to not speak up simply because you may be in the minority.

    BTW, I was born a minority, so I don’t really have a choice. :D

Some are so scared to jump, they stand there. Others think they need to jump to their death immediately.

I was just giving another perspective. You don't care for it, that's fine.
Btw, investor behavior and unwillingness to admit a bad investment is pretty well documented in research. I've been guilty of such. Just saying..

I get it, my response doesn't fit your agenda. Carry on.

In the military, telling someone to “carry on” like that is a hostile act. But, the good thing is we aren’t in that setting, so I’ll just chalk it up to you didn’t mean it that way. :emoji_handshake:

It’s refreshing to hear something like this for a change.

I also go way back. I lived through the Dickey years, including the Florida Flop, Appleby to Washington, and Fourth and Dumb. Years of anticipation followed by disillusionment and despair. When we finally won an SEC championship that we were allowed to keep, I turned to the old man next to me and said “I’ve been waiting for this moment for 25 years.” He replied, “I’ve been waiting 52 years.”

That moment made me realize that this was something that conceivably might never happen again in my lifetime and I resolved to enjoy the good times and get through the bad times. I watch every minute of every game on tv except for one bowl game on my wedding night (I was torn) and estimate I have traveled 150,000 miles to attend games, where I annoy whoever I am with by staying for the alma mater and fight song. Sappy, I know, but that’s what being a fan means to me. The Gators are not a “product on the field”, they are “my team”.

    ALL kinds of weather.

When I was in the military, shooting at the enemy or being shot at by the enemy was the definition of a hostile act. I guess things have changed.

I don’t think they have, but I think you know that I was using the term generally. My point was that telling someone to carry on like that is rude, but that perhaps I was reading more into it due to different work experience I had.

Not sure if it was sincere, but thanks. You guys don’t need to thank me, though. We’re all just buddies talking sports, here.

I was a Vietnam era NCO. If I gave an instruction or an order, like “carry on,” I sure as hell didn’t worry about being polite—and if I got that order, I would carry on without further thought. Sheesh

Old school here,...... If you can't get yourself up to play these last 3, (4) games, with a lot to prove to yourself and your teammates going forward, AND wreck some teams dreams, go to a Bowl game, then you might as well transfer........ But, our guys see the future and I'm seeing it as they see better things coming in the future with the Gators.

    GO GATORS!!!!

Reading this thread, I keep thinking of all the people who played on club teams at colleges, or softball leagues, baseball leagues, basketball leagues, rugby leagues, or soccer leagues, and any other sports league. Even bowling.

Not playing for money, not getting room and board and tuition, and few or no fans even watching. Playing because they love playing. Because they love the sport. Because they love competition.

None of the teams I played on won any championships. I can’t even remember the records. I just loved playing, and wish I still could.

Anytime somebody sets foot on any venue to play any sport, they have a lot to play for.
