Uhmm, that "crackhead" has a BA from Georgetown and later attended Georgetown Law School before getting his law degree from Yale. How do your academic credentials compare?
Im sorry guys. I hope your kids end up like Hunter Biden. After all, he has a JD from Yale. Apart from that how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?
The Trump indictments, particularly those relating to Jack Smith. He chose to wipe his hands, He could’ve intervened. He didn’t. I actually have more of an issue with Garland than with Smith. Smith was appointed to pursue Trump. That’s his job. And he’s doing it zealously, I’d argue over zealously but that’s to be expected. Garland is tasked with overseeing the DOJ and maintaining its integrity and reputation. He chose to defer all of that responsibility to Smith. He can’t do that. Considering the President probably couldn’t tell you what day it is, I’d say this is on Garland because he knows better or should know better. Smith is just doing what he was appointed to do, even if he’s gone too far.
So he's corrupt because he didn't intervene to make sure the orange one never got indicted? Anything to protect the orange god. smdh.
The buck stops with him (or Joe Biden, take your pick) and he got what he wanted in overseeing something the US has never seen before. Using the Justice System to further purely political ends.
Not shocking, but your understanding of special prosecutors is sorely lacking. They are used to ensure there is no politics involved. Here is a brief history of the use of special prosecutors. Had Garland been involved without a special prosecutor, the story would have been Biden's appointee is going after his political rival. But with Smith, he's independent. Garland still has final discretion when it comes to indictments, and could've overridden Smith. But the evidence was very damning. Garland made the right decision getting an independent person to investigate Trump. You are just unhappy with all the dirt that was easily found.
Correct. Correct that he was right to get an "independent" person to investigate Trump. Incorrect that he made the right call in refusing to override the decision to indict.
So under no circumstances and regardless of any evidence, Trump is off limits to any indictments. Good to know that some prefer that he be above the law. Next....
Evidence and truth doesn't matter when it comes to the Orange deity. He is above the law...says the party formerly claiming to be the law and order party.
Trump did not run for the presidency to win. He ran to position himself as the top critic of the Hillary administration for a new Trump News Network he was planning. He was scared poopless on election night knowing that his life of criminality would now get a laser focused investigative roto rootering. Trump needs to be investigated and possibly prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law to create a negative incentive structure for any other savvy well-funded criminal to seek the presidency. Similarly, foreign actors should need to think twice about propping up such an individual for that job.
Not what I'm saying, but it would be a start if Biden didn't have to scramble because he himself had classified documents.
I have only one thing to say, and the brilliant Frank Bruni said it for me: "A vote for Trump is like a civic suicide pact."
Like pretty much everyone whose been in the White House in our lifetime. This doesn’t prove the point that you think it does. “Cooperation” after the fact does not typically immunize you from prosecution.
True, there are other factors the DOJ looks at. Like intent, potential damage to national security, and any actual damage done. Hypothetically, if say a former high ranking Federal office holder had some low level docs in his garage that were zero threat to national security, and he fully cooperated in the return of all materials, precedent says the DOJ won't charge. In contrast, if the docs are some of the most sensitive materials produced, no cooperation in returning them, and are kept on the premises where known spies were caught before, this scenario is almost guaranteed to bring charges.
Nope. DOJ precedent is solid in these cases and political persuasion of the person with leaked docs is never a concern.
