If the speed limit is 55 mph, and one car is doing 57, and the other 95, I want the police to ignore the guy going 2 over, and get the guy who is a real danger doing 40 over. Yes. They gut doing just 2 over isn't even worth a warning in my opinion.

Just like at Walmart, the guy who accidently forgets to pay for a $1 candy bar at self checkout, if they are like most people, will either return on his own to pay for it, or pay twice next time he comes back in to even things up. But the guy running out the door with thousands worth of electronics, different story.

We live in a world of limited resources and plenty of gray areas. A person going 2 mph over the speed limit, or a guy who pays 99.9% of the time and accidently forgets a candy bar in his cart aren't people worth persecuting and prosecuting. Not worth the time and effort. The guy doing 40 over or stealing thousands? Much different.

When it comes to classified docs leaks, which happen every week, the DOJ has been consistent with how they pursue cases. They take things like intent, cooperation, potential damage, and actual damage done into consideration. And in general, if there was never any ill intent, full cooperating in returning docs, and no damage done to national security, charges aren't pressed. With Trump, not sure about intent, but cooperation wasn't there, and the potential damage of TS-SCI docs is beyond significant. So bad, that even a former POTUS should and will be charged in this case. This is they guy going 40 over or stealing thousands. What Pence and Biden did? More like going 2 over or forgetting the candy bar.

You're resorting to an unfalsifiable analogy as a crutch now. We can't quantify exactly how bad Biden's violation was in terms of speed limits.

While the case isn't closed yet, we can certainly infer how bad the leakage was by how what the DOJ does or does not do. If they are consistent, and no charges are filed, then we can infer that Biden had no ill intent, and there was no damage or potential damage to national security. We know for sure, Biden fully cooperated.

Again, with Trump, we know for sure he didn't cooperate. It was the complete opposite. And while we can't know for sure, the chances of TS-SCI documents being dangerous to national security are too great to ignore.

Again, there are hundreds of classified doc cases every year. Most end up with no charges because there is full cooperation, no intent to harm, and no damage done. Mostly because most classified docs that are left in unsecure places aren't dangerous to national security and people cooperate fully with their return. We can't say this with Trump.

Sorry you don't like the analogy. It illustrates exactly that not all who break a law are equal, nor should be treated equally. Someone going 2 mph over the limit is someone the police can ignore. Going 40 over, and they are too dangerous not to pull over if possible. An unintended classified docs leak where national security isn't in danger and the person fully cooperates to return all docs is not a case where indictments are coming. No cooperation, lying to hide the docs, and highly sensitive docs that could damage national security? Different story.

Ok, let me reword that for you. The people he put in charge of trying to find dirt on Biden came up empty and told him so! How's that?
IF Biden has broken the law and let's say he got money from China and changed policy to help them?? Put him in handcuffs and show him out of the WH. I'm cool with anyone who puts us Americans in a bad place so they can benefit being indicted and jailed.

Where is the evidence that Hunter Biden extorted money from companies period? Maybe he did business with them. Like, I don't know, Ivanka getting 18 trademarks from CHINA in 2 months??? She couldn't get a nod before daddy became president. It all started after she had dinner with Xi at Mara Largo. Nice dinner that was huh? That SAME week, trumph announced he would try and save jobs for ZTE - owned by the Chinese. A month later, she got more trademarks and trumph lifted sanctions on ZTE. RUSSIA approved trademarks for her 2 months before trmumph took office. No one really knows what she did in the WH as a job. There was so much of this grifting going on, including Jared and the "opportunity zones", but yeah, let's talk about Hunter Biden who hasn't even sniffed the WH. Vague accusations and an impeachment inquiry where the star witnesses said under oath they have no evidence. BUT us people always just make it about politics. I like facts as opposed to rumors and conspiracy theories.

The Trumps did nothing but grift the entire time in the WH, and Trump continues to do so today.

If you can't see that, then we are done discussing this topic. It's like:

This is such stupid circular logic.

715: "The Biden DOJ is unfairly targeting Trump."

AzCat: "No they're not, the two cases are different. One was far worse than the other."

715: "How do you know that?"

AzCat: "Because the DOJ treated them differently."

I am alleging this DOJ is targeting its political opponents, and you are using their disparate treatment as proof that one side was really wrong while the other is relatively clean.

If this is how we disproved "weaponization of the justice system," no justice system in any country's history could ever be weaponized. Why? Because if one group is ever treated unfairly, that disparate outcome is merely evidence of the extent of their guilt, not of prejudicial targeting by the justice system.

Trumph was investigated time and time again, because he kept doing shit that caused that to happen! Stuff his entire life he has gotten away with, he couldn't get away with as president. He should have just stayed away from being president. He has zero control because he's a 77 y/o spoiled brat.

Get back to us when the laws are amended so that it becomes a valid legal defense to say, in effect, that I should skate because someone else did something wrong. Our legal system does not work that way.

Here's all I got on that.

    Selective prosecution - Wikipedia

In jurisprudence, selective prosecution is a procedural defense in which defendants argue that they should not be held criminally liable for breaking the law, as the criminal justice system discriminated against them by choosing to prosecute. In claims of selective prosecution, defendants essentially argue that it is irrelevant whether they are guilty of violating a law, but that the fact of being prosecuted is based upon forbidden reasons. Such a claim might, for example, entail an argument that persons of different age, race, religion, sex, gender, or political alignment, were engaged in the same illegal acts for which the defendant is being tried yet were not prosecuted, and that the defendant is being prosecuted specifically because of a bias as to that class.

This theory, which is rarely successful even in more egregious cases of e.g. race, has been raised as a possible defense in the election obstruction case of Donald Trump.[1]

In the United States, this defense is based upon the 14th Amendment, which stipulates, "nor shall any state deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." The U.S. Supreme Court has defined the term as: "A selective prosecution claim is not a defense on the merits to the criminal charge itself, but an independent assertion that the prosecutor has brought the charge for reasons forbidden by the Constitution."[2] The defense is rarely successful; some authorities claim, for example, that there are no reported cases in at least the past century in which a court dismissed a criminal prosecution because the defendant had been targeted based on race.[3] In United States v. Armstrong (1996), the Supreme Court ruled the Attorney General and United States Attorneys "retain 'broad discretion' to enforce the Nation's criminal laws"[4] and that "in the absence of clear evidence to the contrary, courts presume that they have properly discharged their official duties."[5] Therefore, the defendant must present "clear evidence to the contrary",[5] which demonstrates "the federal prosecutorial policy 'had a discriminatory effect and that it was motivated by a discriminatory purpose.'"[6]

A lot of people don't understand that Trump's Administration was loaded with cases of Trump telling his staff and people around him to do things, and then proceeding to do whatever they want. You seem to be one of them.

In light of recent events over the last year and Biden's DOJ, this time will be different on this issue.

Cool, you just might get what you want.

There are Hunter Biden text messages extorting a Chinese Company using his daddy's name claiming his dad was sitting right next to him.

In regards to the Trump family, successful business practices from lifelong career business people after Trump was elected is not quite the same as a crackhead, whose biggest contribution to the world was a military career that ended within a year after being commissioned due to discharge based on cocaine use, receives high positions of authority presumably based solely on the name of his daddy who is a career politician, then extorting companies using daddy's name.

The Trumps were in business long before they became politicians. How the Bidens have become wealthy based on a career in politics from the father and despite completely self-destructive behavior from the son... is a complete mystery. And considering where some of that son's money is coming from, one would think this warrants a closer look.

Lord knows Trump has been investigated over the last 8 years. You equating the level of scrutiny which Trump has been under from the media, the Biden Administration, and even his own Administration... to Biden's... is completely disconnected from reality... but I guess that's on brand for the party that thinks fetuses aren't people and Caitlyn Jenner is a woman.

If Trump's purpose for taking the White House was grifting, boy was he bad at it. He's less wealthy now than he was when he took office.

Ohhhh... You're so close to recognizing the issue. Closer than almost any other left-leaning person on this forum. My guess is you still won't get it, unfortunately.

The issue isn't that he ran for President. The issue is that he ran for President and was a disrupter for Democrats and disrupted the Republican status quo. Then, all of a sudden all of his dirty laundry "emerged." ;)

The DOJ is supposed to be separate from the admin. Not the President's personal lawyer and legal goon squad. I get why a Trump suppoter might get confused and not understand this.

Garland didn't have to, but he did elect a special investigator to look into the Biden case. If this was Biden's DOJ, the case would just magically disappear. But that's not what is happening.

And I guess there will be some who never believe the truth. But Occam's Razor suggests the docs in Biden's garage and office were not an issue to national security. And we're held unintentionally by mistake. Couple that with full cooperation by Biden and you get a case where traditionally, over the course of several administrations, the DOJ doesn't indict. Just like Pence.

Had Trump cooperated and fully returned 100% of the docs without a hassle, no charges would've been filed in his case. And we likely never know or care about Biden's garage. But Trump didn't cooperate, and, every case is the same? Just isn't the b truth.

Hundreds of classified leakage cases a year. Most are non stories because the docs aren't national security risks, and there's full cooperation in returning them.

Eric Holder: 'I'm still the president's wingman'

"I’m still enjoying what I’m doing, there’s still work to be done. I’m still the President’s wing-man, so I’m there with my boy. So we’ll see."

Biden gets influenced either way. If he gets paid directly, it’s pay to play. If he knows nothing about it, but his son is fraudulently selling fake access to him, that can be used as blackmail by the foreign agents. That would be criminal conduct by Hunter, and his son could go to jail. Joe Biden has been consistent on how much he loves his son and would do anything for him. Now I’m not saying that Joe Biden is being blackmailed, but just because he wasn’t aware of his son’s fraudulent conduct in selling fake access, doesn’t mean he couldn’t be influenced.

With that said, where there’s smoke there is usually fire. I think they’re going to end up getting Joe Biden

Holder was a blight on Obama's otherwise good record. He wasn't independent and way too much on Obama's pocket.

Garland has been a good AG, and has been independent.

lol ok ya sure… investigating a prior president for things no other prior president has been investigated for (and surely many have done a lot of the same) is so independent.
When you typed that out did you laugh hysterically?
