I agree that the gators have to have a balance with running and passing. Also, it needs to be done in a way to keep LSU in the guessing mode.

Muschamp absolutely would do this- play offense to make his D look better.
He couldn't figure out he wasn't a DC anymore- it was like he was auditioning for his next DC gig.
I'm sure he also liked the smash-mouth, ball control offense.
He's a caveman.

 

But it didn't improve with Mac until Grier started. Many teams were successful with top ten defenses and 90th+ ranked offenses. Heck even a couple of Spurrier's 11-2 USCe classes were heavily skewed in favor of the defense, along with weak offenses.

 

Makes me wonder how Frank Beamer and others got into the HoF with that philosophy...

 

I just read an article that said Daniels practiced today according to his coarch, it went well and they expect him to be cleared to play tomorrow.

 

Nobody should have had any doubt he would somehow enjoy a tremendously fast recovery. I'm happy for the kid . . . as long as he really IS ready for full contact.
