We are slowly finding out that the answer is a YES. Their approach now is “Oh, crap, the other teams seem to be coaching circles around us. But let’s just try and stock this team with talent and then watch the magic happen”

Basically letting the talent earn their salaries for them.

I compare this year's loss to Arkansas to Mullen's first loss to Kentucky snapping UF's 32 game winning streak.
I mean UF is Arkansas daddy also. UF loss one time to Arkansas since joining the SEC and that was under Mac. Most Gator fans don't think Mac is a good coach including me.
I still want to see CBN coach a couple of more years at UF. Just being honest, I'm starting to doubt his ability to lead UF to an SEC title.

I'm hoping to see improvement in the next 3 games including all season next year. I don't care if they have a losing season this year or next year as long as the team shows improvement each game.

I think he left out question mark in his post. You got his sentiment all wrong.

"After careful reflection: I wouldn't mind an OC up in the booth. Seasoned eyes in the sky calling the game. I also realize we are young. That's truly a fact and the young kids are really balling out. The upside is kind of exciting."

Didn't we have an OC who was up in the booth, and we demanded he come down to the sideline?

    CBN's ceiling is 9-3 -- IMO.

I've seen up and down performance. Not steady improvement. I'm still hoping he can right the ship.
What is your stance on that? Are you in the getting rid of him now camp?

Not all of us fell for it.

Napier is a nice enough guy, and he absolutely kills it at Talking Season. Recruiting, making the media feel relevant and important and involved, etc etc- he’s excellent at it.

Problem is, the Talking Season Champions have to play those pesky games. Where they’re often exposed.

You can’t stop the games. They’re coming.

I’ll say this, noise is louder than ever. Loss is a loss but it’s the way we lose, the lack of urgency, and then the lack of accepting responsibility in press conferences.
I’ll say this, not targeting Ricky or Tre in OT is confusing. We threw to Khalil who is our 5th option.

Talking heads ( big names) now talking.

Not Mullen’s fault. Portal can fix a lot immediately and we’ve not chosen to act quickly. Evaluations take way too long. Can’t miss a bowl and show regression in year 2. Just can’t happen.
If can’t run against lsu could lose big. Best thing for our defense is an offense that eats clock and shortens game.

honestly, i’m over making a bowl game especially if we’re doing it as a 6 win team.

If we don’t win 2 or more of the remaining games, I don’t want us going to some random early-mid December bowl game as a 6 win team, not caring about it JUST like CBN the staff AND players showed last year against Oregon State, etc etc.

The team didn’t even get close to the “15 extra practices” you get for a bowl game last year.

Just hit the portal harder than ever for OL and DL and give Seaton whatever he wants to come to UF because i’m sick of the OL/DL lacks talent and/or experience excuse.

Billy chose to run off Mullen’s guys after last season & this is basically his roster.

He makes $7 mill a year and we have one of the highest paid staffs in the country.

    The gloves are officially off

    No more excuses

I don’t agree with the inability to hire a seasoned coaching staff due to the revolving door. Success and momentum build excitement and attract players and coaches. Well there goes my point ;)

Maybe, since Billy is young and unproven, that reduces his ability to hire seasoned A lister assistants? Clearly something is impacting learning and performance, beside youth.

The thing with our revolving coaching staff is that No One is saying, “yup they should have kept that guy.” No one. The few Mullen pumpers left will even mutter under their breath, well he did quit on the team.

Fingers and toes crossed that the recruiting continues through the November hellscape.

That’s what Napier did at ULL and it will not work in the SEC. It worked to an extent in that it got him a multi-million dollar payday but it’s not going to win football games. For him to be successful he is going to have to “evaluate the process” or whatever jargon he wants to use, kick his Sunbelt pals to the curb, bring in some new guys and let them coach.

You said what I’ve been saying, and thinking for about 2-3 months and my thoughts were not popular.

I agree with your thoughts on hitting the Portal harder than ever but you and I both know that will not happen as the evaluation process takes way too long and other teams grab the best players. Regression in year two is not acceptable and you are 100% correct when you lose guys like Hopper that’s more than concerning. And yet, some will say it was a forgotten conclusion that he wanted to go to Mizzou because of his family member and I would disagree 100% and also counter with others such as
    Ryland Powell- 8 sacks
Braun- blocked rear end off as Arky ran all over us. and for somebody says “he quit on us, or didn’t want to be here there’s more to that story and basically he was shown the door. Should have been an easy starter when CBN came in but lost time.

lol man we have a few highly rated recruits that are sniffing around other programs. I won't even name them, it's happening right under our noses but nobody is seeing it.

No that would be crazy after less than two years. I was hoping to see steady improvement this year. Will wait and see what he does staff wise after the season and how the next season plays out.

Filsaime visited USCw yesterday. Adarius Hayes visited Bama yesterday too and they're now in HOT pursuit of him. Nasir Johnson (who's our ONLY defensive tackle commit) been entertaining UGA and FSU recently, Amaris Williams entertaining the hell out of Ohio State.

This staff better buckle up because November and December WILL make or break them and their tenure at UF.

Here's the dilemma though....say he makes the expected staff changes....then what's the expectations? We get a new OC, S&C, ST, WR, OL coaches...and then what? Shoot for 7-8 wins?

The CFP is expanding next year and let's be real, strictly off eye test, only UGA is head and shoulders more talented without a doubt as a team we'll face next year. This team should be contending for a CFP berth next year.

I would think 8 wins without major blowouts that would be trending in the right direction especially with the ‘24 schedule.

Then you're in the same camp as I am. I want to see him at UF for at least 2 more years. To see what he can do with the better recruiting classes he's bringing in. He will have 4 recruiting classes under his belt by season 4. So, no more excuses in year 4 if they still look like a sunbelt team.
