They were the 120th rank O in the country until today, similar to last year when we played USF.

I think I've been hearing this line since like '09. At this point I'll believe it when I see on field production.

Objectively below average at a minimum in everything they do. Season highs in total offense and points (not even including OT) vs FBS competition.

The joke that we make every team we face look like top 10 offenses is not even that much of an exaggeration at this point. We are the "get right" game.

I should of worded my reply better. I was trying to say that Arkansas's was not a bottom of the heap offense. They are somewhat just below average. Some moments of flash and more moments that look like a flicker.

I agree to an extent that they are not as bad as the numbers would have you believe and wasn't trying to be critical of your response. The ugly truth remains however, that UF's D made them look way better than they have shown to be thus far.

Sometimes looking just at the total offense ranking can give you a distorted picture.
    As of today Arkansas offensive:
Points scored ranking is 72 out of 133 (they are a middle of the pack team)
Jefferson QB ranking is 87 out of 132 (just below middle of the pack QB)
Yards rushing ranking is 105 out of 132 (Bottom quarter of the pack rushing)

Jefferson is not a chump of a quarter back. Yes he has had some difficulty against the top SEC teams in the Western Division. However, he did have some good days (like last night against the middle of the pack or less able teams.

If Arkansas had a better rushing game (like middle of the pack) the game last night would of been even harder for the Gators.

Arkansas went 8-18 on third down. 44.4%.

That means that Arkansas faced ten fourth downs during the game. That’s a lot. Ten times a drive failed and they had to decide whether to punt, attempt a FG, or go for it.

Of course we were just 8-17. That’s why it was a close game.

Box score I looked at had 9/18. Guess that was incorrect.

Well, it was close to 50%!

It’s a pet peeve of mine that everyone concentrates on third down percentage rather than the number of third downs not converted. I would rather my defense hold them to 5-10 (50%) than 1-3 (33%) because the former means five drivers ended unsuccessfully rather than just two.

Now the question might be, what is the FBS record?

Careful let’s not be overly critical here and question coaching.

I cannot honestly point to any aspect we had on defense that was good except for those two red zone stands we had early. Those were impressive and I had my hopes that were dashed as the game progressed.

You don’t say. LSU must have set a record today with more than 700 yards on offense.
