We did not represent the armed forces well today and I don't believe our armed forces want or need this kind of attention. Personally, I hope we never do this again, well intentioned but let's just play sports and leave it at that.
Winning a game is not representing the armed forces...lets put some perspective on it. Regrettable comment.
The uniforms struck me as a failed gimmick. Hard to take all that “commitment “ etc. seriously (in place of player names) when the on-field product is so poor. Makes us a joke and laughingstock, in my opinion. And I’m a 26-year military veteran, so I’ve seen plenty of similar motivational things like that that do work .
Makes me think of the stupid Dr Pepper commercial where the fan runs out back to lite up the pile of college gear after the first play. Perhaps the team should be lighting up a uniform bon fire tonight in front of the brand new Heavener Football Center.
The team I saw in black uniforms did NOT look like the Gators... did not play like the Gators. Let's stay away from those uniforms in the future, please.
I actually like the black jerseys, but not at noon and not during a season nobody is going to remember.
There's nothing wrong with the color scheme of those said uniforms. But those are not our Gators' color scheme... nor are they Gator uniforms.
I thought the uni's looked fine, think they would look even better under the lights. The names thing to me has always been hokey, I put it right next to corpo speak for low effort virtue signaling verging on condescending. The connections drawn between the cause and the on field performance are just plain dumb, both the good and bad.
It's something we would make fun of fsu for putting on the field and something Alabama would never put on the field. Laughing stock yesterday. Especially can't pull that off with poor execution and bad coaching.
