Agree. We had a terrible start in SLC that was tempered for me only because I was there and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Utah (other than our depressing football performance). If we had only gotten worse we could easily be winless. Unfortunately, we might have peaked a couple games ago. Even improvement from this point forward can result in three more losses.

I'm 50 and tried to explain this to a friend the other day. Sports is entertainment, and if you're not having fun, don't watch. I don't buy into the cult like expectations from many fans. If the product sucks, has sucked for many years, and you're not enjoying yourself it's time to turn it off.

The only strategy I can think of is that Mrs. Billy Napier (sorry I don't know her first name) lean on her husband to make this change.

Forget the athletic administration - if the wife tells Billy - he gonna do it! :D

How does us making the PAT allow them to score a TD? You think they would have scored a TD instead of a FG? They may have had to try and score a TD, but that doesn't mean they would have.We needed that PAT OR the FG at the end. We win.

Kinda speaks to the knowledge level of the aggrieved fans voicing their displeasure this evening. Gotta wonder if they actually watched the game or just read the box score

I knew this year wasn't going to be "the breakout year". We need OL and DL players who will dominate. When we get to that point, our plays will work. Question is, how are we doing with that?
I'm going to not worry about the rest of the season, I'm going to worry about recruiting. What's happening on the field is secondary imho ... at least for now.

I’ll be at the hunt camp don’t have cable. Made the mistake of listening to the last 10 minutes of the game. I then proceeded to step in a hole while walking thru swamp to my stand. Wet from the waist down just like my Gators.

That would make sense. We had a bare cupboard. LSU didn't fire their coach because they weren't winning.

Agreed, Kinda looks like Boz before he found the fame and the media. Big, fast, powerful, dedicated to getting better, but our scheme only reflects DBs. Our DL is pummeled in this scheme. They want our DEs to be defensive tackles and pass rushers. 6 on 4 or 3 dl, hardly allows any penetration in the SEC, and if you do get penetration there are wide open places for offenses to exploit. Run gashes, passes over the middle and under our always deep secondary. AA said he would use our scheme. Our last DC didn’t get it so use a scheme which is physical and puts pressure on the QB. Ours allows highlight films for every opposing QB. Most teams defending us are using four man lines with four LBS up close. tough to run on and hard to throw short passes. Will the offense or defense get aggressive due to these opposing schemes, doubtful

Yeah, it’s too bad we haven’t recruited any OL or DL the last few years.

without reading all 50 pages this. The mismanagement of a very simple, common, end of game scenario cost Uf this game. Period. Should have been a calm walk off fg. Instead we lost 5 yards and looked like we didn’t know our ass from a hole in the ground. Really disheartening. We knew the game was a tough match up for Uf, especially with the middle starters of our front 7 out, so to do enough to win at the end and to lose, again, because of mismanaged special teams is really sad. And makes me really doubt the future viability of the staff.

Everyone is freaking out about the recruiting. I'm not so sure it's affecting the kids out there. We're playing tons of freshman. These top recruits want to play, the families love Napier, and they should. Napier has some work to do, we can all see it. He'll have to right the ship.

He needs some game-ready Offensive linemen post-haste from the portal. And he's attracting the best talent out there from the HS ranks. Lagway is going to change this program like Tebow did. I'd put $ on that. Some of his classmates will be an integral part of that too. Our class could actually improve and surprise people. We'll see. Think about it, how many high schools have winning records? Most of the best teams have a few losses. A small handful are undefeated. They know and believe they'll make a difference.

    The sky isn't falling.

Make no mistake about it, losing blows. But I feel okay now. You could see this one was slipping away. It's in the rearview mirror, I wonder how they'll respond?

    Go Gators.
