It's mathematically impossible. Unless there are penalty points deducted or bonus points added. Or one of the shooters is fouled on his unguarded 3-point attempt.
Have you ever watched a 3-point shooting contest? They get one point for each shot made, plus, in some cases, double for making the bonus ball.
If the shot counts for just one point, it's not a 3-point shot. It's a 1-point shot. No matter where it's launched.
