i heard the same but will it be ANOTHER year in 2024 of excuses of “well, it’s only his first year here, he needs time!!”?

I’m just tired of that. It’s always an “experience” excuse with the coaches and/or the players

Big picture, we've become Vanderbilt+. The administration prioritizes academics, nothing wrong with that, it's a strategic choice, but it just sucks for us sports fans. They have no interest in being a powerhouse in any sport anymore. They're fine being just okay, which is why for the two biggest sports, they hired an okay, unproven guy for football and some random guy, i don't even remember his name, for men's basketball. That's our new reality, we need to adapt and accept a 50-65% winning percentage going forward.

I believe what you are trying to say is we need a spread formation. If so, I agree 100%

At least on that play Mertz looked down field first. Here’s an idea why even have a check down guy on 3 & 8+ type situations? There are other options - have an extra blocker for pass protection or have another player past the sticks.

Not much to discuss, we shot ourselves in the foot once again.

Not to mention the coaching was disgraceful again.

    In my head--- UF
substituting players on a spike ball play there’s something that you don’t do

I was in the fifth row watching complete confusion on that

A good or a great coach knows what to do when the pressure is immense

sadly, billy is not that type of coach.

nothing to do but hope things get better.

today was a frustrating day in the swamp

Best case is the defense gets lost with the deeper routes and leaves the shorter route open with enough space to get the conversion. It shouldn’t happen, but it still does at times.

I'm sorry but I just don't see changes being made that give the players a chance to make plays. Even with the same players, some kind of advancement should be made from game to game, and it's just not happening.

I bet you couldn't remember Billy Donovan's name through those first couple of losing seasons either.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see wholesale changes on both the offenses and defensive line players next year. They simply aren’t good enough to be playing.

Thanks to our non aggressive defense scheme and for not trying other bigger players at LB and playing man on the receivers to give us another DL rusher, nope. You see the results, will they change, nope.
Yes you will see them reaching for their shoulders getting knocked to the ground. This defense would be good at flag football, but this ain’t!
    Now that is idiotic….

I have thought since he signed that 44 Pyburn should be playing MLB. 6'3 250 not at end.
