Remember the Spurrier years. We always had a great offense and put up a ton of points, but only won one national championship after he finally got a good defensive coordinator Bob stoops.

100%. So tired of this excuse. Are we UGA/Bama talented? No, but we’re certainly not devoid of talent. Coaching is the issue.

Vegas knows what they are doing 5.5 wins is spot on anyone who expected more was kidding themselves . OL is sub par and defense has no stars no leaders Mertz is mediocre we knew this at the start of the season. Not a shock we win 5

The converse of that is while the offense was going 3 and out, the defense was keeping the game close. The defense is missing multiple starters in key positions, especially against a running team like Arkansas. What excuse is there for our offense to sputter for half the game?

The defense played well enough to keep us in the game while our offense was sputtering. Our offense scheme never seems to want to go for the throat. We tied the game at 14 and then seemed to go conservative on offense for the next 1-2 quarters, and then when the offense had to score, the offense was less conservative and we were able to drive the ball.

Realistically we should have lost to USCe..we are at the same point Mac Muschamp and Mullen were..time to make staff changes. Time to peel off the bandages and fire friends and staff who aren’t cutting it as coaches on the staff (and that includes yourself if you’re the current offensive coordinator). Let’s see if he is any better at making the tough decisions off field than the prior coaches. God help us if he doesn’t.

Trying to compare Napier to Smart is ridiculous. Kirby went 8-5 his first season at Georgia, won the SEC East in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022. He won the SEC title in 2017 & 2022, was national runner-up in 2017 and won it all the last 2 years. He took 1 year to get in the groove and has been in the hunt for an SEC and National title every year since. This is his season record since his first year, 2016. 2017 13-2; 2018 11-3, 2019 12-2, 2020 (Covid) 8-2, 2021 14-1, 2022 15-0. I hate Georgia, but our coach ain't in Smart's league.

Because he is a kid running a scheme that doesn’t work with his personnel. Small LBs, DBs play zone way down the field, never getting interceptions and last but not least, 3 or 4 DL trying to contain, get to the QB and go out in coverage for passes against five OL, maybe a te and RB and a QB. This doesn’t work in the SEC. So don’t change. why, we are winning TOP and telegraphing our plays on both Offense and defense. Very sad, I guess we want to replace Vandy as the doormat of the SEC! Yes, we are getting better.

I don’t think Austin Armstrong is necessarily a bad or average DC per se. Jury is still out. I think he’s just trying to mimic what he’s seen work for great defenses like Alabama or Georgia without realizing we have neither the talent or experience to execute.

He needs to get better at adapting based on what he does have at his disposal.

Those are some sobering stats. I don’t know why everybody is so enamored with our defensive coordinator. Lack of defense is one of our significant issues right now.

Essentially, we are making our opponents the #1 offense in the nation for a week. We even gave up close to seven yards per play vs. Vandy.

Frankly, it's time for BN to clean house. He is hoping that a young DC will be something he is not. Sadly, we are playing the way we are coached.
