"Good week for a lot of reasons." Man just stop with the life lessons. Trust us, after two years we get the coach speak about Champions of Life. His response to Edgar (who has the only balls to ever ask any hard questions) was full telling saying "Not his job to deal with fan expectations."
Whiners all over the press conference. Get a grip. There isn’t anything he could have said to satisfy the bitterness of some on this board. He’s not getting fired this year clowns. His #1 job is finishing out this recruiting class, getting an OC after the season, getting to 9-10 wins next season and setup 2025 as our run in his 4th year. Some of you ya’ll are just straight out of your minds and nothing he said today at a press conference would calm your bones.
Agreed, borderline childish. I mean, if a HS coach said that he would get the side eye. Extra cringey because you know BN doesn’t actually believe it.
He could have started by saying, “not being prepared for the final field goal is on me, I screwed up and won’t let it happen again.”
I understand why he does coach speak in press conferences and I understand why fans hate it. A good coach isn’t going to rant and rave like a lunatic nor will a coach keep the teams respect throwing players and coaches under the bus PUBLICLY. Behind closed doors may be a different story and we will never know. however, Napier, like Mullen before him, could take some heat off himself by giving the fans something they may want to hear. mullen made statements contrary to actual facts and what our eyes could see. Made it seem he felt we must be stupid or something. napier wants to control narrative in public but now and then needs to say something to appease fans like “todays performance was unacceptable- special teams continues to hurt us and we may need to change things up there.” so easy to gain some fan trust or support even while losing.
In preparation for the last 3 games, Billy says he told the players to be who they are wrong answer coach they need to be better than who they are. Because right now we are not that good. Then to see AA literally chase KJ Jefferson down after the game to congratulate him showed all I needed to see about the reason our defense is so freaking soft!
There is 10 win potential next year with the amount of guys we will have back, but if OC AND DC aren't sorted out, we won't reach that potential
I missed this. Probably told him "I had no idea you would keep running even though that's all you did late in the 4th!"
I don't recall anyone clamoring for his being fired, it's a given he will be here at least another year. You are one optimistic fellow in believing after these first two years we're going to win 9-10 games. Heck, at this point we're almost giddy to win 6 games. And as far as recruiting goes, we will have to see how that ends up after we likely lose the next 3 games. How impressive these recruits must be to see this team go out on 5 straight losses. It wouldn't be so bad if we simply lost by being out played, but being out coached for the second year straight is not a good look. I hope we hold onto these recruits but I have to say, from what I've seen of BN I'm not sure they will be developed or coached properly.
Our current talent level is on par with most of the SEC and behind Georgia, Alabama and probably LSU. But we have to be one of the youngest teams in the country and we have the #3 recruiting class committed. If we hold onto the class through signing day, we will see what Billy can do. Nothing is going to happen with Billy until we see what he does with the talent that he is bringing in.
Well he said "not his job to manage fan expectations." Brah you are already completely botched NIL once. Careful there. Fans donate.
