Making a bowl game is not just for the game itself. It gives you an extra month of practice to develop young players especially when you’re laden with them as our team is.

When hires consistently don't work out then it's soon time to look at the person who is doing the hiring.

    I just have 2 points.
If you score 36 points against a team that only scored 3 in their last SEC game you should win.
    2. The defense failed to protect a lead in the last 2 drives of regulation and was a sieve in the overtime period.

And despite being likely the best defensive coach in the country he still has 2 defensive coordinators. Maybe a lesson Billy could learn by simply looking at the staffing practices of successful coaches.

    "Scared money don't make money."

I agree with the way he handled the Reshada recruitment, with regards to the obscene amount of money involved...

But he better open up the NIL cash on these last few recruits... possible flips.

True - but when several starters skipped last bowl game and back ups played and got humiliated on the field, fans didn’t care that some guys got extra practices.

Sasse is a sports fan, hopefully he is keeping an ear open to what is going on. He has his hands full being a first year president.

Unprepared is the main word. Also, it brings me back to the current thread "Billy Napier Continues To Seek Adjustments as the Gators Prepare for Arkansas" from GatorCountry.com

Here is one clip from the GatorCountry.com article.
"The preparation in practice has been inconsistent through eight weeks of the season. With only four games left to play, the Gators can’t have many more issues defensively with KJ Jefferson and Arkansas heading to the Swamp this weekend."

The game today had too many Gator episodes of "failure to execute"; with questionable play calls, the play of both the O-line and the D-line, time out management, pass defense coverage, and a player substitution.

My overall opinion is that the Gator team (coaches and players) are misfiring like a car that needs some repairs. Today's game was not the first time we saw the Gators misfire. These misfires have been a common problem for most of the season.

The Gators three remaining games are with teams with a combined record of 21 and 3. It appears that misfires are not happening with these three teams. Also, the next two games (LSU and Missouri are on the road) and FSU is at home. None of these teams have problems in scoring and defending their goal line.

For the next three games the Gator cannot afford any misfires from the coaches and the players. They have to be prepared and perform extremely well.

And this is the great uncertainty of our current system. It's a vicious cycle. If (a) we recruit at a high level, which attracts many potential NFL players, and (b) we vastly underachieve, then why would many of those players risk injury to play in the Cereal Bowl? Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, etc., don't lose massive numbers of players sitting their bowl games out in order to be healthy for the Combine.

As if there isn't enough pressure in Hogtown, the pressure of keeping your top players AND recruiting top players hinges entirely on the level of success. Wait until Texas and Oklahoma join up. Texas has unlimited NIL money. I have no idea where all this will be heading...

"We play not to win," was what a caller on the post-game show just said. Which one of you was that? LOL! :)

Steve Russell asked for a specific and whoever it was said, "We tried to kick a FG at the end."
