I liked the play call when it was 3rd and 7 and we threw a pass all the way to the line of scrimmage. I think the broadcasters called it a screen pass (for no gain). I would call it a scream pass. Such calls make fans want to scream.

On paper it does because the last 4 hires did well with the prior regime's players until they got their players into their system. Napier didn't really get that many and really he brought over the 3 best players in an OT that was drafted 1st round and Johnson who made an impact his first game. ETN is his recruit and Pearsall is his too. He has the players he wants but not enough of them. The offensive line, geeze if we had Georgia's offensive line, we might be playing for the SEC east title. Defensively getting better but a year or 2 away from stellar. Tackling in many cases was awesome only to see where players were trying to tackle Juggernaut high and getting trucked.

I at least give the players credit for not quitting after we were down early 14-0. I really thought there was a possibility of them folding. We really were up and down today. Missed tackles. Botched extra points. Still issues with taking sacks instead of getting rid of the ball. Seemed to me that the defense was having some success with blitzing their QB, but when it came down to it in the 4th quarter, we rush three and give their QB (a great runner, but rather average passer) find open guys for first downs. Just frustrating. It just seems like everything that SOS built has been destroyed by our last 4 coaches. There are things I like about Napier, including recruiting and building an organization, but some things that just don't give me a lot of faith. We are not dynamic in any way at the moment. Let's hope the young guys continue to improve. We'll see what happens in 2025 (I'm already writing off the chance of much success next year).

Add 4-5 major contributors or next year will be a struggle. Too tired to go back through what we need.

I don’t think anyone believes firing Napier is the right move. I do believe there needs to be some staff changes and there have been some rumblings that that will happen.

I just don't see any toughness in this team. I don't know if that's on the strength and conditioning coach or what. Also, why does it seem like we are never ready to play at the opening kick off.

are you seriously comparing Billy to Smart? FL will have 3 losing seasons, two under Billy with no improvement on any phase of the game.

This one stings, after that horrid start the team fought back, as it does when not horribly overmatched and the defense stopped them for the middle two
Quarters…. Which I guess says something good about team culture …
But .. It really feels like once it was 14-14 we went back into our shell on offense into Billy’s prevent offense… I’m pretty sure Trey had two touches for 10 yards in the middle quarters, same stuff … prevent O, game changers, run fits, tackling …

I agree. I just want someone to tell me - what does Napier do that gives us an edge on gameday? I can point to coaches all over the country who don’t have ALL the talent but who’s coaches give them an edge on gameday. I don’t see it

Yep, but someone sent the kicking team out on the field early. I wonder who called for that?

That’s what the admin want , they want to be vandy and they want to show off how smart the school is . They know fans will still attend all the games so who cares

I’m sure games like this and KY will be conveniently forgotten by some on here if there is a coaching change in the next couple years. It will be blamed on the fans and that we “ran him off”, etc. No way Ark has more talent than us. When is this staff going to out-coach a more talented team and win? I hope it happens and Billy can turn this thing around. I just don’t see smart coaching.

I wouldn’t call his time at UF an internship. He won a bunch of games and won the east once. Is that what we strive for now?

Hate him or whatever. If there is a total meltdown the next 4 games and they dump Billy.

Gator fans hate him, but Lane Kiffen is the best guy we are going to be able to get, who can win. Because we are such a shell of what we were and we will not get anyone better. We have become South Carolina.

This would be an easy conclusion to draw. But our D has been bad all season and in this game we were missing several starters. We are playing young kids all season, and in this one we were without several key players. We just aren't a good defensive team, from a talent standpoint.

He also went 22-12 before being fired at 3-4 after losing to Georgia by 35. BN needs to go on quite a tear of wins to top Mcelwains total
