Yeah if he can continue high level recruiting with the results on the field. A loss like this is devastating because of the overall pall it casts on the fanbase and the way it keeps Napier on the edge. I still believe in Billy and we have to give him a chance but this loss really hurts and it's will become more and more difficult to fend the off negative nellies and we have a lot of them.

Some meaningless bowl game will offer just so they can watch this board argue about players skipping meaningless bowl games.

I bought our DC's BS when he said were were going to a 4 and 5 man defensive line front.

He was not being honest. The 3 man prevent defense has been good for one thing and one thing only... to insure an offense get's their QB all the time on the world to figure out how to beat a defensive back-end, and how to give the offense massive yardage in the process.

That was his play calls at the end of regulation play.

Our DC is not living up to what he said in his first Gator presser...

Have to instill the attitude in the players. Have to keep the crootin class.

Just looking at DL, our tackles are only good for a handful of full effort plays, too overweight and they tire quickly. Now add in lack of depth, linebackers and coaching…

A fair question. Coaching wise, what has BN done so far that merits trust? With back to back losing seasons will guys want to leave? Will we hold onto our recruits? Most fans including me wanted to see a year of progress, well that ship has sailed.

Pretty easy to understand...the main goal this year seems to be making a bowl game. No one is talking about trying to do anything more than that.

Didn't Spurrier go on to have the most wins at USCe?

there was no excuse for that Keystone cops routine in the last 10 seconds. It was quite clear that Mertz was setting us up to spike the ball. Whoever instructed what looked like the field goal team to rush on the field has some major explaining to do.

We lost because of the lack of having strong fast linebackers

3 straight losing seasons. Looking lost in game mgmt, special teams, zero flow to offense or rhyme or reason for calls. Napier seems to do JUST enough to give you hope and not call for his head and just enough to lose. All of it can easily be chalked up by Napier to “missed assignments or lack of players or program culture” - and they have a great recruiting class so we are told “be patient “ But honestly/ there are 10-12 SEC staffs I’d take over Napier right now. You don’t need 5 stars at every position playing perfectly to win ball games. K-st wins with 3 stars, Mizzou is doing ok… there are staffs All over the country that could take THIS ROSTER and win more games. They don’t know how to use tempo, spread the field, make adjustments…
We just lost to a 2 win Arkansas team who fired their OC/ it’s beyond ridiculous.
The state of the program is at an all time low in my life. I’ve been a gator since 80… never felt less hopeful. Except for a great class- what gives you hope that Napier can coach them to a winning record? Win ‘chips? Please point to what NAPIER does ON the field that gives us an advantage?? Because if not, he’s the wrong guy. NIL can get players here- we don’t need him for that. What does Napier do that gives us an edge?

It really pains me to say this, but if you are a high level recruit and you had an opportunity to go to Florida and be coached by Billy Napier and his staff or do you want to go to someplace like Auburn and be coached by Hugh Freeze and his staff?

Napier’s coaching today was nothing short of barbaric.

End of regulation his substitution creates a penalty that cost us 5 yards. Result, missed FG.

The clock management continues to be his achilles heel.

At this level any coach worth his salt should have football 101 down pat. Napier continues to fail on the fundamentals. We are 22 games into his tenure and we look no different than if we were 22 seconds in.

Again, I am not calling for his removal. Not a single one of SS' hires has done jack $hit.

We need an offensive line. Mertz needs time. Can't have dropped balls. Were receivers not open? I can't tell. Bordingham dropped a couple. I love that kid, but not his best game. Although, he made a few good plays too. Pearsoll got stripped- huge defensive play by Arkansas. When their QB ran we had absolutely no answer for that. Tre Smack misses one. Kid's been so $ too.

Tough loss. I wasn't feeling it today. If we won I would have needed a 'notarized certificate of game win' because it felt like we were losing all day long. I guess Arkansas was about due one and they got it.

After careful reflection: I wouldn't mind an OC up in the booth. Seasoned eyes in the sky calling the game. I also realize we are young. That's truly a fact and the young kids are really balling out. The upside is kind of exciting.

    But...frustrating to watch today.

There will be better days. Why don't we look ahead for a second. Three ranked teams. Pffft. No biggie.o_O:rolleyes::eek:
