I recall he got in some hot water following his Jewish jokes on SNL. Dave Chappelle focuses ‘SNL’ monologue on ‘the Jews’ and Kanye West’s antisemitism
While I do agree with you here, I did not find it humorous of Dave making fun of retarded people. I also don’t see the humor in making fun of the Jews right now. There is such a thing as bad taste and poor timing. I was not offended, but it does say something about a persons character. I wasn’t impressed.
That's just it though. 9/11 jokes don't make me laugh but I'm not offended by them. I gave up worrying about what others say a long time ago. Jewish jokes don't equate to antisemitism to me. Context matters though. Jewish people are famously known for their self deprecating humor and ability to make jokes from their own struggles. If it were coming from some neo nazi or known bigot then it's a different story. Even then I chalk it up to throw away comments from throw away people so who cares.
That is the way real life should be taken. If it was meant in humor not intended to harm anybody no offense should be taken. Those times are long past though.
Remember when....Jerry Seinfeld's dentist Tim Whatley (played by Bryan Cranston) converted to Judaism, and Jerry was convinced he did it just for the jokes? After complaining, Jerry is accused of being an anti-Dentite. Father Curtis: [in a confessional booth] Tell me your sins, my son. Jerry: Well, I should tell you that I'm Jewish. Father Curtis: That's no sin. Jerry: Oh, good. Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about Dr. Whatley. I have a suspicion that he's converted to Judaism just for the jokes. Father Curtis: And this offends you as a Jewish person? Jerry: No, it offends me as a comedian! Man do I miss sitcoms like this.
the phone case at his show was like a transport to the 1990’s. People listening and laughing. A low tech solution for a high tech world. Yondr
Is it possible you just don’t have a sense of humor? It’s amazing how much power democrat overloads have.
Apparently Pete Davidson had someone sneak in a phone. Said he pays $10,000 to have them locked up for his size venues. Pete Davidson Pauses Show as He Spots Audience Member Filming, Says He ‘Pays $10K to Lock’ Phones
I want to give you props, but if you don’t know which member it was you get docked 100 points. It better be because you forgot and not because you didn’t know
As I'm wont to do. I'm gonna tie 2 things together. Saw the Meat Puppets not that long ago at the Aggie theater in Ft. Collins. Elmo repeatedly had someone stand on his side putting a joint to his lips as he played. I guess he's not a fan of the dangler. the Aggie theater is the last place Ol' Dirty Bastard performed.
Guess I'm gonna have to go set Wiki straight. On July 18, 2004, his final live performance was at the Gathering of the Juggalos in Garrettsville, Ohio. Ol' Dirty Bastard - Wikipedia. Oh it 100% was Rza. I just figured if I said his name like 3 people here would know who I'm talking about. I've actually seen Wu 3 or 4 times. Unfortunately they're kind of disappointing live.
Ah cool. The I flip flop between the Purple Tape and Mobb Deep The Infamous as my favorite hip hop albums of all time. I only saw Wu as the whole group together one time around 2007. I saw Method Man in the 90's.
He's had people locking up their phones for years now. It started around 2017. Chris Rock was one of the first. I think it's a good idea. Quite a few comedians have been going that route. Cuts down on distractions, keeps people engaged, protects your material and limits the chances of being taken out of context.
