Right now Kennedy is just a name to the majority of voters, albeit a very famous name.. Once they get to know him they, it will look like DeSantis is still on a honeymoon with the American voting public.

 

Can't imagine why 18-34 year olds wouldn't be charmed by Biden administration accomplishments. Median home price is now $410,000, real median household income declined 2.3% from 2021 to 2022, the stock market has gained 7.3% since January 20 2021 compared to 56% under his predecessor and 148% under Obama, there are two new wars and some NATO allies seem to support other sides, China grows bolder everyday, etc...

Kinda question those poll results since, despite being in one of the demographic groups supposedly more favorable to Kennedy, I have literally never met a single person who supports him.

To the extent it’s all or mostly name recognition for now, hopefully that eventually recedes when everyone realizes his ”platform” may actually somehow be less serious than even that of Kanye in 2020.

 

I actually think his platform is pretty solid if you slice off the ten percent of crazy qanon stuff. That stuff, and the fact a Trump presidency would likely mean the end to our democracy as we know it, means I'll vote for Biden again, unfortunately.

 

don’t forget all the cheap agricultural specialists, young sex workers and medications that Biden is providing our Country.

 

This speaks more to the company you keep, not the poll results.

 

The company I keep includes very few conspiracy theorists, so that’s likely true.

 

RFK has a much bigger social media presence than the other two. Speaking to getting his platform out there.

Trump's is just him complaining and Biden's is non existent.

So I would think the younger voters know RFK more then many think

I think it just hasnt dawned on people that we are going to get Biden/Trump II (its too grim to think about), so people are just casting about for any possibility that something else might happen to avoid that.

 

I have a gut feeling that this Thanksgiving the President will sit down with his family, and collectively they will come to the decision he should not run for reelection, and leave while he’s on top with his many accomplishments. The largest accomplishment being making us respected in the world again and his fight to save democracy.

Seems like everyone wrings their hands and frets about the youth vote every election. From what I gather, they are less reliable to even show up and probably less reachable through traditional media. One thing we know is that the national popular vote doesn't matter. How should Democrats motivate younger voters in the handful of swing states that will actually matter? Do they care about different issues than other voters? I never went through the numbers but seem to recall at least some articles suggesting younger voters were very helpful to Democrats in some of the mid term and special election contests. Was that about Roe v. Wade, state-specific issues, or the quality of the candidates themselves?

With respect to RFK, Jr., I've been and remain very skeptical of the theory that he could actually hurt Trump. Pod Save America was recently saying there is some growing support for that theory and the Trump team is reportedly concerned about it. If that concern grows, some of the Republican donors who've been supporting RFK to hurt Biden may start pulling their money back, and it's not going to be easy or inexpensive for RFK to get on the ballots in the swing states.

 

No the decision will be his, but those polls may help guide him in making that decision. There are plenty of other Democrats that would easily defeat an obviously confused Trump for the same reasons. Trump’s continued slip up’s over world leaders, who he was running against in 2016, along with his age is already fodder for candidates to use against him.
